I just took part in the #BigPlasticCount, UK’s biggest investigation into household plastic waste. Here’s what I found really happens to my plastic waste:
♻️20% recycled
🌍28% sent abroad
🔥34% burnt
⛰️18% sent to landfill
This is shocking, right?! @Jochurchill_MP@pow_rebecca

@laure_kayser @udmseg Sounds great. I’ll definitely watch with interest and have a go. I spent a number of year electropolymerising PTh and PPy, so working with PEDOT will be interesting. It would make a good UG project at least.
Today we remember the late Prof. Calvin Quate, co-inventor of the Atomic Force Microscope, who was born on this date in 1923. Binnig, Quate and Gerber constructed the first AFM in 1986. The three scientists received the Kavli Prize in 2016 for their invention.
