Autonomous 18-wheelers are something I dream of. While many people believe the law completely forbids them, I hope these semis will soon have the capability to drive themselves while a person simply monitors their progress and "takes the wheel" if needed.The software should be made so flawless that the truck can autonomously park in any difficult spot and easily handle any obstacles it faces on the road. Making the software simple and perfect would allow anyone to operate it. This would open up a lot of job opportunities and ramp up deliveries, because people wouldn't mind staying on the road 24/7 if all they had to do was sit back and relax—just like they would in a Cybercab.
