Mehdi Hasan came to this interview with receipts.
He confronted Neera Tanden over the Center for American Progress hosting Netanyahu in 2015.
Tanden said she now regrets it and wishes it had never happened.
Then Mehdi pulled out an old email in which she reportedly told John Podesta that getting a Bain Capital figure on CAP's board made hosting Netanyahu worth it. Complete with a smiley face.
Tanden said she didn't remember the email and pointed to the Obama administration's involvement.
The moment he brought up that email, this became a very different interview.

Piers Morgan Pushes Back as Mehdi Hassan Challenges His Argument on Israel and Hezbollah
Mehdi Hassan: October 7th was used, as you and I have discussed before, as the excuse for killing tens of thousands of Palestinians.
Piers Morgan: I don’t think they use it as an excuse. They responded to one of the most egregious terror attacks in modern times.
Mehdi Hassan: Well, when does the response end? We’re nearly a year in.
Piers Morgan: Well, that’s the question.
Mehdi Hassan: That’s when it becomes an excuse, when you carry on
Piers Morgan: Is it an excuse, or is it that they are wedded to the elimination of Hamas?
Mehdi Hassan: That doesn’t justify killing 500 people in a single day, though.
Piers Morgan: I didn’t say it did. I don’t think Hezbollah’s charter is irrelevant when you have a terror group on your doorstep.
Mehdi Hassan: Hezbollah didn’t exist in 1978, Piers. Everything did not begin on October 7th. The core of the problem is Israel’s territorial expansionism and occupation. Deal with the occupation, then you deal with the violence.
Piers Morgan: Since October 8th, 19,000 missiles, rockets have come from Hezbollah to Israel, right?
Mehdi Hassan: Way more from Israel into Lebanon.
Piers Morgan: Would you condemn the firing of rockets by Hezbollah or not?
Mehdi Hassan: Of course, I condemn all attacks on civilian targets. I don’t come on shows to defend militant groups or foreign governments.
I come on shows to say let’s end the violence, let’s sort out what the solution is, let’s look at the root causes of the violence.
