BREAKING: A jury of 12 has officially been selected for the trial of Karmelo Anthony, and opening arguments begin tomorrow morning.

Our reporter @Savsays went inside the courthouse today and got some insight into how Anthony’s lawyer is planning to defend his client:

- He told the jury he’s going to refer to Karmelo as “Melo” for the duration of the trial, since that’s the nickname his family and friends know him by.

- His lawyer also seemed focused on selecting jurors who would be sympathetic to Anthony potentially not testifying.

- The defense also highlighted that Texas is a “stand your ground” and “constitutional carry” state, which applies to both knives and guns.
