Fourteen years ago today, six people were killed and 13 others were wounded—including then-Congresswoman @GabbyGiffords, when a gunman armed with a Glock pistol and high-capacity magazines opened fire at a meet-and-greet event outside a Safeway grocery store in Tucson, Arizona.

Having suffered a severe brain injury in the shooting, Gabby Giffords stepped down from Congress to focus on her recovery. After the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary in 2012, she co-founded @GIFFORDS_org, which is now a national leader in the gun violence prevention movement.

Today and every day, we honor Gabby and all whose lives were taken or forever changed that day, with action.

Judge Luttig on endorsing Kamala Harris: I had concluded long before the endorsement that I would endorse the Democratic candidate, whether it was the current president or VP Kamala Harris. In my faith, I believe that I would have had to answer to my God for my silence if I had not endorsed Kamala Harris. It’s nothing less than right and wrong. We all know that, and even the Republicans who support the former president know it in their heart. They just don’t have the political and moral courage to stand up against the wrong that they are now supporting and endorsing. I did not want to be in that position in my final days on this earth.
