2) The decision to use the Scots Guards comes from Whitehall. Though some oppose the decision, the choice will be more than justified... and having met so many of the men who did it, there is no doubt in my mind either.

It’s seems the source of 44 11 Hussars battle honours is the Imperial War Museum. Hopefully a reputable source. Does this provide the final answer I wonder. 🎤🎤🎤🎤drop @almurray

We’ll get through their entire story in time but we’re starting with D-Day and the fighting of June 1940. Amazing men. I’m in awe.

Always said there is a regiment that deserves greater recognition. 1st in action North African campaign. Travelled further than any regiment in the war & was the spear tip of 21 Army Group entering Hamburg first. The Regiment 11th (PAO) Hussars. Best Recce Regiment of the war

@RDPHistory Think it’s clear in the Col’s mind that the Para RM Bde was finding every way not to support 5 Inf. Whilst the Navy nearly sank the Scots Guards the night before then failing to get the landing craft in the right place to deliver 1WG. Conspiracy or incompetence
