@BluePho14903667 @khaliqrodriquez @TheJonSowl @cjpearson@DineshDSouza@danielledsouzag@BCMAmerica@DonaldJTrumpJr Funny how the party that authored nearly 200 years of black oppression now acts as the champion of the same ppl, even as their policies destroy that community's ability to sustain itself. Yeah we should really vote blindly for those folks.
@FlightSimRookie@the_jefferymead So you, Roberts, Barrett, etc. have to think they did a 180 in just two months on their own law. They used "not subject to a foreign power" in the law, but "subject to the jurisdiction" in the amendment. Their intent should be crystal clear.
@FlightSimRookie@the_jefferymead Here's a new one for you: the 1st section of the Civil Rights Act of 1866. The 39th Congress overrode a veto to make this law and sent the 14th amdmt to the states 2 months later. So no future Congress would undo it they made it an amendment.
@umisef@aboardgravyboat@ThatG6822@mgilles_2000@lucystone1871 The point is birthright citizenship has been stretched to insane proportions. All of it is being challenged. ๐คก like you should stop pretending that the understanding from the 14A text or any prior SCOTUS opinion is what's in effect today.
@umisef@ThatG6822@aboardgravyboat@mgilles_2000@lucystone1871 Oh cool. Shall we quote Justice Taney from the Dredd Scott opinion or Justice Brown from Plessy or Justice Black from Korematsu? Justices aren't infallible and their opinions can be ill-formed.
@ThatG6822@umisef@aboardgravyboat@mgilles_2000@lucystone1871 That's not the text of the 14th admnt. It's someone's bad interpretation. A citizen of another nation doesn't owe allegiance to the US just by living here. Plus, you don't have to live here. Just give birth here and the baby is a citizen by the current rules.
@Modemavin@HobbitusBriar@Adriana19Flower@GeorgeMenday What is it called when a woman lies to a "good guy" about her sexual past, gets a ring and 2 kids, and then divorces him to return to her loose ways - secured by the alimony and child support? Same energy.
@RealDianeYap The thing is you really are "that kind of girl" if you do it quickly with other guys. To pretend that you don't for a guy you want to take you seriously, is dishonest and manipulative. It's insane that women believe such fundamental deceit is just fine.
The Knicks wiping out a 22-point deficit in the fourth quarter against the Cavaliers in Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals turned out to be a warmup act for what might be the most memorable win in franchise history and the biggest comeback in NBA Finals history.
@alaburner22@cybrludite@monsterhunter45 This only shows you don't know anything about Trump's conviction. None of those other cases even come close. How are you people so ignorant and yet so arrogant?
@Aku_700 This must be an IQ test. Shame so many failed. You cannot block the view of people in bleachers by standing near the bottom row of them. But don't let physics get in the way of "muh fatigue".
@K289Rando@SohrabAhmari She was clearly an activist after the bus boycott. The author is also clearly trying to make her an activist earlier. But there's no real evidence of it. It's only hinted. You made the allegation and then searched for proof. That's the issue.
@K289Rando@SohrabAhmari Talking "biggety", challenging a white bully, and chafing at the racism in the Jim Crow south don't make you an activist. Like the article, you're trying to shove a human reaction square peg into an activist round hole. Yours is the bad faith.
@K289Rando@SohrabAhmari That article alleges that she was an activist prior to the bus incident. It offers no proof of it - other than her marriage to an activist and working for the NAACP. That tells me you went searching for proof of YOUR allegation. You failed.
@YRespectfullyK@DukeSelden@Endeavourov1@Heche35@AugustVeron@SohrabAhmari Agreed. The result was that black people in Montgomery decided to boycott riding the bus. It wasn't some grand scheme. It was a local story until after the boycott dented the city's DOT coffers enough to end the segregation policy.
