@Tyler_A_Harper meanwhile, if you append "wiki" to any Google search, mysteriously the Wikipedia latest opinion piece on that topic comes up on the very first page of search results
@SwannMarcus89 the "I don't care" part is included in what trans-tifa calls transphobia
being indifferent isn't enough to persuade them that you aren't transphobic
the only thing that will convince them is if you are publicly saying every hour of every day that trans is an oppressed minority
A pantomine horse isn’t a horse.
An open secret isn’t a secret.
A hot dog isn’t a dog.
A shrinking violet isn’t a violet.
Crow’s feet aren’t feet.
Fair game’s not a game.
Trans women aren’t women.
I am intellectually incapable of addressing why a man who builds actual rockets dismissed my entire worldview as 'absurd,' so I will pretend this humiliation was a 'discussion' and promote it as content. I am terrified that people watched him tell me more people hate me than I realize, so I am using the phrase 'key takeaways' to sound authoritative. There are no key takeaways. I was dismantled on camera. I hope you don't notice that the public enjoyed watching me suffer. Please watch the full segment so my employer at the Italian industrialist-owned magazine doesn't notice that I have never built anything except my own delusion of importance. I am a small woman in a borrowed worldview and Elon Musk exposed it.
@l3v1at4an after years of making life miserable for thousands of just normal residents of Toronto under the assumption that by doing so they could make the federal govt take orders from Hamas and Muslim Bro-hood, now they expect a wave of support for one of their mob?
how likely is that?
Caution didn't win women the vote, or equal pay, or fair sport, or the right to single-sex spaces. Sophie Cunningham is standing up for women and girls everywhere and it's glorious. Fuck caution.
Mr. Coyne is right that patriotism matters.
The Conservative Party has been unequivocal: we reject separatism and stand up for Canada’s sovereignty and national interests.
However, once again, he holds the Opposition to a standard he declines to apply to the Liberal government. While asking Conservatives to answer for people outside the Conservative Party, he doesn’t ask Liberals to answer for the actions of the Liberal government itself.
Over the past decade, Canadians have watched the Liberal government too often define our country by its shortcomings instead of its strengths, and make symbolic decisions that many believed diminished national pride.
If we’re going to have a serious conversation about patriotism, the same standard should apply to everyone.
Patriotism means believing Canada is worth defending, worth improving, and worth celebrating.
That should unite Canadians of every political stripe. 🇨🇦
In 2022, I took a lot of shit from people who thought we were allies over opposing progressive insanity by arguing against their conspiratorial nonsense about Ukraine.
Somehow, 4 years later some of those people are starting to wake up to reality. That's fantastic.
I learned a lot from that time. I still remember a TV presenter/influencer calling me up when the war broke out. "I don't know anything about Ukraine," he said. He asked me why it was happening and what's driving it. I spent a good half an hour explaining. He nodded along and said "that makes so much sense".
Then 3 days later, some people on his "team" suddenly decided that the cool kids all think Ukraine = bad.
The guy who had called me immediately began repeating their nonsense on X with the confidence of a career Eastern European military analyst.
A few months later, a British influencer *living in Britain* who knew nothing about the war started tweeting shit like "No more of our dollars for Ukraine, amIrite guys?" with a photo of her in a miniskirt.
My point is, a lot of the things people say have nothing to do with an informed opinion. That's why the bullshit comes in waves. A small number of people start saying something and then a LOT of people realise that's where the addictive combination of money and attention is. So they smash that Ukraine button like a baboon in an experiment where he gets a grape every time.
Then another small group of people start saying the next thing. And the baboons all run over to that button and start smashing it.
It was a big wake-up call for me.
Most of what you watch, read and hear is just people who are good at talking saying shit someone else told them that they think is in their interest to say.
And I'm not even having a go at those people. Honestly, the fact that people are capable of changing their mind eventually is a very good thing.
Carney still can’t come clean on Tollgate.
He caved to the U.S. and kept the truth hidden for weeks.
Instead of keeping 100% of the tolls until Canadian taxpayers are repaid, Carney signed away 50%.
So much for the master negotiator.
