Brilliant performance from Spain. Going into this game under the radar and had this tactical composure and dominance. Best team on the night are through to the final.
Really liked what Andoni Iraola had to say in his first press conference. Didn’t say anything too out of the ordinary but did show his understanding to where the squad and club are right now. As well as showing appreciation for the local area and academy. #Iraola#LFC
Surprised at this, it has been a dramatic 24 months for Liverpool but they are struggling to find stability behind the scenes and this news will only be added to when Richard Hughes eventually moves to Al Hilal
I’ve had a great time logging for the BBC Sport library for the World Cup.
I’ve logged many types of video feeds as part of the BBC archive.
I’m so proud to say that I’ve worked on my first World Cup and it was amazing to be part of team working on such a big sporting event.
🚨🌳 Oliver Glasner to Nottingham Forest, here we go! Deal in place for former Palace manager to replace Pereira at #NFFC.
Glasner will bring key people from his staff and will be involved in transfer decisions.
A perfect signing for Liverpool in their current situation. Time will tell if he will be a starter or not but he’s considerably cheap for a young winger in today’s market and instantly makes Iraola’s attacking options a lot better.
This has to be one of the most unexpected results in World Cup group history. Credit to Cape Verde for making Spain’s game very difficult and they certainly deserved that point.
Origi really is a one of a kind footballer. His momments will always been spoken about and it was never a dull moment with him around. It’s amazing to see heroes come out of no where and he had a habit of making the unexpected happen. He is without doubt a Liverpool legend.
My purpose in the game is fulfilled ⭐️
I lived out my childhood dreams, played on the biggest stages, won the biggest trophies. Grateful to God for all of it.
To all my fans, the clubs, my teammates and my family: this will forever be ours. Thank you.
The mission is complete. Now I step into my next calling.
More of the journey to come.
Love,
Divock Origi
“When you step onto the pitch, I know it won’t just be you on the pitch, but Diogo will be with you.” 🥺❤️
Diogo Jota’s wife, Rute Cardoso, has written a letter to Andy Robertson ahead of the World Cup. Absolutely beautiful.
Unproven with zero opportunity at the very highest level of Football but wherever he has been, he has made a more than positive impact. His style is perfect for the current squad, will be interesting to see how he sets up.
Liverpool FC can confirm Ibrahima Konate is set to leave the club upon the expiry of his contract this summer.
Konate will depart with our gratitude and appreciation for the contribution he made and everyone at the club wishes him the best for the future.
After the season, it’s unsurprising to see him go but let’s not forget that he won Liverpool’s 20th league title and has endured a brutal time for being a Liverpool manager. A difficult year or so for LFC but this decision shows a chance to change.
Liverpool FC can confirm Arne Slot is to depart his role as head coach with immediate effect and that the process to appoint a successor is under way.
He leaves with a Premier League title to his name and our deepest gratitude and appreciation.
It’s been hot and cold for over a year now regarding if he would sign a new deal or not. His start to the season was not good at all but it has to be appreciated how he turned his form round since January. A successful spell overall in Merseyside.
Interesting considering that I was in the Liverpool shop earlier and it was only Konate and Szoboszlai that was pre printed on the new shirts. Now it feels like a massive red herring and a waste of kits.
I have witnessed this club go from doubters to believers, and from believers to champions. It took hard work and I always did everything I could to help the club get there. Nothing makes me prouder than that.
Us crumbling to yet another defeat this season was very painful and not what our fans deserve. I want to see Liverpool go back to being the heavy metal attacking team that opponents fear and back to being a team that wins trophies. That is the football I know how to play and that is the identity that needs to be recovered and kept for good. It cannot be negotiable and everyone that joins this club should adapt to it.
Winning some games here and there is not what Liverpool should be about. All teams win games.
Liverpool will always be a club that means a great deal to me and to my family. I want to see it succeed for long after I have moved on.
As I’ve always said, qualifying to next season’s Champions League is the bare minimum and I will do everything I can to make that happen.
