@charliebelllive The person who fits that bill most closely, and has the intellectual, communicative and diplomatic skills to do the job, is the Rector of St James’ Piccadilly. No chance though, which says a lot.
Find it very strange when people say they “use” a restaurant. You go there, you eat there - if you see it as something you “use” then you might as well stay home - a frey bentos would be just as useful, as would Huel.
In consideration of those who say Axel Rudakubana had no apparent political/ideological motive, perhaps his genocidal hatred of white people might cause some reflection on the teaching of Critical Race Theory and inculcation of ‘white privilege’ and anti-Britishness in schools.
@MichaelSadgrove This argument doesn’t make sense to me. There is no obligation to have a Christian presence on gross social media sites. Ought we to set up a Christian section of the dark web?
I feel very sorry that some disabled people and their carers worry about assisted dying. But to my mind the safeguards are robust enough and the case for change too pressing. It’s a big decision but the right one.
@AmandaAchtman It’s not shaming to acknowledge the awfulness of the manner of some people’s death. Closing our eyes and trying to sanctify that is much worse.
@StLaurenceLud does being a town centre church so well - a lovely open coffee space where you actually want to be and where you can take in the building in a relaxed way.
Let’s just reflect on this for a moment: according to Rhys, because +Justin said something positive about homosexuality, God punished him by encouraging him to do the right thing and resign for completely unrelated failings in handling of abuse. This is really, really odd.
Hard not to see this as God's judgement on Welby for his finally publicly caving on homosexuality a few weeks ago.
Deserved. Good riddance. Contemptible, cowardly little man.
Who knows what's next though.
