🇺🇸In 2004, hundreds of insurgents surrounded an American compound in Najaf, Iraq. On the rooftop, only eight Blackwater contractors, several allied soldiers, and a single U.S. Marine held the line under relentless enemy fire.
The Marine was shot near the spine, suffered a devastating eye injury, and kept fighting. Ammunition was nearly gone. The wounded kept piling up. The military rescue they were counting on never came.
Good morning. It’s in connection we find purpose and in closeness we find value. Vulnerability is a prerequisite. Today head up and heart out. Happy Sunday✨
May we never forget these great men. No greater honor than to have served with both of them. One saved my life, the other mentored and helped shape and mold it. RLTW!
