A simple step-by-step process of my work on the box art for our latest Figure product. I believe that creating box art through hand-painted techniques gives the product greater artistic value and uniqueness, while also adding a touch of warmth and humanity to it.
Created just months after the Eckzahn Invasion of Earth, the Earth Defense Army is an auxiliary army or a “Hlifa” (Defense army) under overall Eckzahn military command structure. Only answering to the newly formed United Earth Government.

RE Fun Fact Friday #109
Public amphitheaters are a very important part of Eckzahn society, at least socially. They are common open air places to gather, and enjoy and participate in many activities.
These amphitheaters are normally centrally located in cities, neighborhoods, and bloc districts. Anywhere where people live. The size depends on its location, how many people are going to be using it. Large amphitheaters in large city centers can sit thousands, but small ones in the countryside in small communities may only hold a dozen or two.
At any size these amphitheaters are signed to be inviting, projecting the performance’s music and song for everyone to hear. So city or community centers, and highly foot trafficked areas are prime locations.
Wolves prefer to have these smaller amphitheaters for the purpose to connect with their neighbors. Large amphitheaters can bring together large numbers of people, but lose the connection you might build with your specific community by sitting you next to someone you don't know. Smaller amphitheaters allows a specific community to bond.
These common amphitheaters are open air, normally dug into the ground to create good acoustics. This is done mostly because there are very often no microphones or electronics at all to amplify sound. All voices and instruments are left to vibrate the air naturally. If you ask a wolf, he will tell you he can hear and feel a difference between a live performance and a recording of that same performance.
The Eckzahn believe that performances or recordings of music or other performances creates a degree of separation from you to the performance. Live performances allow a person to more meaningfully connect to the music or performance. It makes it more personal, you can feel it.
This aspect also encourages the small size of the amphitheaters. You can only build them so big before you lose the volume of the performance.
There are all types of performances and events that use these amphitheaters as a venue. Normally scheduled in advance for bigger and popular amphitheaters, or just impromptu performances. There can be celebrations, gatherings of certain people or groups. Speeches and meetings.
Plays and other physical performances are also common sights. Much like their preference to natural performances and music over electronic instruments and to a lesser degree recordings. Many wolves prefer plays over things like movies or TV shows. Not to say those things don't exist, they do but they are not nearly popular. Wolves believe plays let you personally connect with a story seeing it happening in front of you live compared to watching it from behind a screen.
Dances, and wrestling or other combat sports can also be seen here. Amphitheaters are commonly booked up, and always have something going on you can go to and watch.
Musical performances are the most common of course, solo, group, or crowd call and answer. As previously mentioned in other RE Fun Fact Fridays wolves have an affinity to music. They of course have recordings of music they listen to, but would enjoy it being played live much more.
The Eckzahn of course have several types of music, but it can be boiled down to three main types. Solo/duo, group, or call and answer. The first two are self explanatory, but the third is most interesting and relevant to amphitheaters.
Many musical performances can be passively enjoyed, sitting back and enjoying the live music. Call and answer music has the audience as an active participant in the music. The soloist, or small group in the center of the amphitheater, sings the main verse. Typically phrased as a call or announcement. Then the audience responds to the call with the chorus.
This type of music, based on the account of many Eckzahn, can only be enjoyed in person. It is more of an experience than a performance. The camaraderie that is felt when participating makes you feel like you are a part of something bigger than yourself.
Something like Karaoke is also performed at these amphitheaters, typically at night with drinks and food available. People take turns performing songs, oftentimes with recorded instruments played back for simplicity, with the audience participating when appropriate.
Cybernetics In Resonant Evolution There are a wide variety of cybernetics in Resonant Evolution, the most common of which are organs and other internal musculature and structural parts of the body which have been damaged or compromised in some way.
Scaling up, limbs and other major bodily functions are also capable of being replaced totally by synthetic alternatives. These cybernetic systems are able to interface with the subjects brain using a paired brain chip and are able to be controlled the same as any other limb, or other bodily function. This also allows them to receive feedback, feeling and pain from the implant/limb.
Some people, especially in high octane jobs that require the best performance choose to perform elective surgery to receive cybernetic implants to enhance their performance. This is not common, most people only get cybernetics out of necessity to replace a failing body part. (However, this is culture depended, and some cultures have embraced more likely to do enhancements than others.)
There is a large range of capabilities in these cybernetics. On the low range, basic motor function for limbs, and the bare necessity for organs are the low end. On the high end, super human strength and flexion for limbs , and an almost guaranteed unfailing operation for organs.
Cybernetics can come in any form, but the factor in a implant’s appearance is the subject’s wealth. The more basic implants and limbs are function over form, and mean mostly to get the person back up and running like normal. If you have a bit more money they can take nearly any form, size or capably you want. Some have synthetic fur and attempt to replicate the user's limb as it was before, or you can go wild and get a flashy chromatic arm with a hidden knife that also has connections to interlink with computers.
There is a soft upper limit of how much one can replace before adverse effects start piling up. Many cybernetics are not fully designed to cooperate with other cybernetics. So without precise tuning malfunctions can be both common and serious.
