Agape love is not an optional love for the christian, it is the primary way to love.

A few things to know about Agape:
1.) God loves you with an agape Love.
2.) Agape love is volitional not emotional
3.) Agape love is a command Jesus gave to all his followers.
4.) When we Christian’s agape each other, it shows we are truly followers of Jesus.

AGAPE :
Unconditional, sacrificial love OR Putting someone else's needs and desires before your own while wanting nothing in return.

When you said yes to following Jesus your old view of love was buried with your old life, and from the ground sprung a new way to love called AGAPE.

If you preach good ideas you will get inspired Christians whose minds are stimulated but their growth is minimal. But if you preach Gods word in all it’s confronting truth & all its amazing grace you will get mature Christians who’s hearts are stimulated & their growth is maximum

What was one of the early churches greatest vehicles for changing the world? One LOVING and INCLUSIVE meal at a time.

Make it a goal this year and commit to regularly inviting people over to your house for meal, or out to dinner, not just with the intention of sharing a meal, but practically sharing the love
of God.

Hospitality and entertainment are different. Entertainment is typically exclusive, it’s inviting people you know into your home. While hospitality is INCLUSIVE, it is inviting people you don’t know into your home so that you can get to know them.

Hospitality in Greek is ‘Philoxenia' which means ‘love of strangers.’ The book of Acts and early church history reveal that the opening up of homes and eating together was one of the most powerful ways to share the love of God to others.

Hospitality for Jesus followers isn’t optional, it is ‘optimal’ for sharing the love of God.

7.) Be a blessing to the world around you, EVEN though they hate and ridicule you. Christian love is best displayed not with loveable, but with those who are hard to love.

6.) Make unity YOUR responsibility. Recognise that Jesus centred unity and harmony in the church is more important than your personal comfort or preferences.

5.) LOVE with words alone isn’t real love. Real love is seen in our actions towards each other. Visible actions of love are more powerful than audible words of love.

4.) You have a God given gift, and you need to use it to serve your church, both for their benefit and for yours. Using our gifts to serve each other is one of the greatest ways to build and keep unity.

3.) Don’t be impressed with yourself, humbly acknowledge that everything you ARE and everything HAVE are from God. Ask him how he wants you to live your life.

2.) Don’t copy the worlds culture, learn and copy Gods kingdom culture. The more you do that, the more you will change for the better and you will grow to know God in a greater way.
