On CAB 3
I am a representative of the people of Kadoma. I was elected to represent them, not to surrender their sovereignty.
In our community conversations, - at after church meetings, during interactions at funerals and weddings, in engagements with parents at school functions, In the streets, and even at our local gym - the message from the citizens is clear:
“Mwanangu, panyaya yeBumbiro, tambai nezvimwe; chitupa hachiwachigwi!”
For these reasons and many other, and in fidelity to the people of Kadoma and the Constitution of Zimbabwe, I CANNOT support this Bill.
Saka nhasi kutogwa naro chaizvo…
To the CCC Progressive Caucus:
You were mocked, misrepresented and written off. Yet you stood firm and protected one of the last remaining zones of democratic autonomy in our constitutional order.
As CAB3 comes before Parliament, I have every confidence you will once again stand with the people of Zimbabwe and reject it in its entirety.
Country before expediency. Constitution before politics.
Together to the end.

One side says: "Whoever wins, wins."
Another says: "It will simply not happen."
The Constitution offers a better answer: the people decide.
The Constitution is not a trophy for political victors. It is a covenant between citizens and their State.
Let the people Speak.

Today is the First Reading of CAB3.
To MPs: your duty is to the Constitution before party instruction. To citizens: remain informed, engaged and peaceful. To Zimbabwe: sovereignty belongs to the people.
The Constitution was born from the will of the people. Its future must and will be determined by the will of the people.

"End of the Road" was the soundtrack of a lavish wedding. Perhaps just entertainment. Perhaps just coincidence.
But history has a habit of hiding its warnings in plain sight.
Power is never as permanent as it appears. Wealth is never a guarantee of political survival. The Constitution always has defenders.
History's lessons are often understood only after the song has ended.

This week, Mudenda’s Parliament is set to begin debate on the infamous Constitutional Amendment Bill No. 3. Fellow citizens, it is now abundantly clear that the regime is determined to alter the Constitution of our country without the consent of the people, from whom all legitimate power is derived.
As ordinary citizens, we have rejected this Bill because it threatens the very foundations of constitutional democracy. We have opposed it to the best of our abilities. Yet this is not the moment to tire. It is not the moment to capitulate.
History teaches us that every generation is confronted by defining moments that test its commitment to freedom and justice. This is one such moment. We must stand firm in defence of our Constitution and the principles that safeguard our collective future.

The future of our country must never be hinged on individuals. Our task is to build strong, independent, and enduring institutions capable of protecting citizens from the suffocating politics of the present. #ZanupfMustGo
The Constitution endures longer than political expediency.
Those who gambled on CAB3 should reflect carefully. There is still an opportunity to correct course and stand with the citizens of Zimbabwe.
History remembers those who defended principle when it mattered most.

History offers lessons that nations ignore at their peril.
In one Southern African country, the twilight of a presidency was symbolised by a lavish wedding linked to a family widely accused of state capture. What followed was political upheaval, a recall, and a commission of inquiry.
In Zimbabwe, recent displays of opulence amid widespread hardship have reignited public debate about wealth, power, accountability and the relationship between business and the state.
History does not repeat itself exactly, but it often rhymes. Wise nations pay attention to the warning signs.

This targeting of youthful voices is in the simplest of terms an attack to civic participation and the future of democracy, the right to peaceful protest and all freedoms of young people. The Police , the judiciary and government should repent forthwith and protect us the young.
Africa’s future will not be secured by resources alone, but by ideas, institutions, democratic renewal and economic transformation.
The next chapter of Africa must be built on trade, industrialisation, value addition, critical minerals, and strategic cooperation—not dependency.
Africa must stop watching history and start writing it.
Happy Africa Day.

I am saddened by the passing of Linda Masarira at such a young age.
Whilst we differed politically, moments like these remind us that life is fragile and our shared humanity must always come first.
My sincere condolences to her family, friends and all those mourning her.
May her soul rest in peace.
Today, I join many Zimbabweans in wishing the ZINASU President Hamauswa a meaningful birthday.
I know something of what it means to mark a birthday under conditions not of celebration, but of confinement — to spend such a day behind bars not because of crime, but because of belief: belief in a different Zimbabwe, one built on freedom, justice and dignity for all.
In 2024, I marked a milestone birthday in prison. I learnt that walls can limit movement, but they cannot imprison conviction.
May this day strengthen your resolve. May you draw courage from knowing that many before you have endured difficult seasons in pursuit of a better tomorrow — and history remembers those who remain guided by principle.
To you and all detained students and activists: stay strong.
Happy Birthday. #Freedom #Justice
It is with deep sorrow that I have received news of the passing of Elliot Pfebve in the United Kingdom.
Zimbabwe has lost a courageous democrat, a fearless voice, and a committed brother whose life reflected resilience, sacrifice and an enduring commitment to justice.
Elliot stood firm in difficult times and remained steadfast in his convictions even in the face of adversity. His contribution to the democratic cause, his wisdom, and his love for people will not be forgotten.
At the time of his passing, he served within the Labour family in the United Kingdom — our sister movement in the Progressive Alliance — continuing his commitment to public service and progressive values.
My heartfelt condolences to the Pfebve family, relatives, friends, comrades and all who mourn his passing.
Gone too soon, but never forgotten.
Rest in peace, Elliot Pfebve.
Movements lose direction when they begin chasing every voice instead of advancing their mission.
Our task remains unchanged: defend the Constitution, protect constitutionalism, support lawful processes, engage communities, and keep citizens at the centre.
The issue has never been personalities. It has always been Zimbabwe.
Stay focused. Stay organised. Stay peaceful.

Today I wish to acknowledge all citizens and leaders who stepped forward before the Constitutional Court in defence of constitutionalism.
Special appreciation to Godfrey Gurira (co-applicant & DCP War Veterans Desk Co-Head), Prince Dubeko (Head, DCP Citizens Engagement Desk), and Prof. Lovemore Madhuku, lead Advocate and NCA leader.
This effort was not for individuals, positions or organisations. It was for Zimbabweans.
A reminder that democratic work is collective work. Different actors. One constitutional purpose. Mandate is not declared — it is earned through service, organisation and showing up.
The Court has reserved judgment.
#DefendTheConstitution
Today, the Constitutional Court sits on matters touching the future of our constitutional order. We respect the independence of the Court and trust that the Constitution will speak through its institutions. Our disengagement from the public hearings was not a withdrawal from constitutional action, but a refusal to legitimise a flawed process. The defence of the Constitution continues through lawful, peaceful and organised means.
