@jacobwooch@AdrianRiskin This term @CW_HeatherHutt office referenced our community impact statements supporting @K3Tenants regarding a luxury hotel development proposal that would have destroyed housing and displaced families.
Our work was referenced at the hearing, which I attended.
It was denied.
One final thing.
I ran on a platform and tried to operate the board while I was in the president seat on a position– one of diversity and inclusion.
My greatest pride was chairing a space where I believe *anyone* could voice their concerns.
However, nobody ever really did so..
I hope this plea reaches those who should hear it.
I pray people won't write-off the importance of neighborhood councils and the fact that they might sometimes be the *only* stopgap available to shed light and possibly prevent predatory development in Los Angeles.
After a full week of nonstop hate and slander, having received no response from the organizations and individuals I have reached out to for legal support, I am now considering resignation.
Additionally, I do not believe I will be running for re-election next term at this time.
After over a month on strike, 36,000 University of California academic workers ratified a new contract securing major raises, improvements to healthcare & childcare benefits, working conditions, & more. Their struggle is an inspiration to every worker—there is power in a union!
Congress just passed a $1.7 trillion funding bill, half of which is going toward military spending.
That money—$858 billion—could be used for infrastructure, healthcare, housing, or free college, but the ruling class chooses instead to funnel our tax dollars into endless wars.
@KarenBassLA's big homelessness plan is "do sweeps in the dark right before Christmas." Apparently, this sweep was supposed to happen during the day. They showed up after the noticed time and started tossing people's belongings. @CW_HeatherHutt is this "compassion"?
