@flomsie I also made it to the same status, also had 4 rentals in 5 years and am now happiest in a home I built and personally interior designed - you can’t to that to a rental! Each to their own!

@flomsie Completely see your point and it is completely subjective - also need to factor in the certainty of owning your home v renting from a landlord who could decide to sell the property at any point leaving you in need of a new place (happened to me with a young family).

@flomsie I understand your point but it’s totally subjective. The “first thing” you do wouldn’t be to purchase that property, however, if you come into a lump sum of millions of £’s then why would you rent rather than buy a property?

Typically, to rent a £2m house costs £10k/month, yet a mortgage will be £4k month (interest only).
So, it makes no sense to rent a place unless your investment of the £1million deposit yields 20% PA( as half goes in tax)
