RHP Jaxon Beck
2026, @AbbyCardinals@PrairieBaseball Commit
Beck was lights out under pressure tonight, retiring all 4 batters he faced and stranding the go-ahead run in scoring position.
Tough slot to pickup, induced s/m.

Hot off the press! Curious about adolescent literacy instructional practices? I wrote this for 6-8, but I would (did) use these practices in 9-12.

As we examine our role in reconciliation today I would like to draw teachers’ attention to this wonderful resource created by teachers in Mission: 1/5

If anyone is feeling generous, @GoConqsBB has a fundraiser on the go, and giving on behalf of Aidan Beck at the link below would help him reach/exceed his fundraising goal in his first year of #JucoLife
Orange Shirt Day is coming up September 30. Reposting the link to my Google drive of resources in French and English- including a shared reading around Rita Joe’s “I lost my talk”/ “J’ai perdue ma langue”. Please feel free to share with colleagues! #OrangeShirtDay 🧡🪶

The updated #UDL Guidelines are here...but what that does that mean for the teachers, coaches, and administrators who are implementing Universal Design for Learning in their classrooms and schools?
We break down the biggest changes here: https://t.co/sS9g4ns4Yh
For anyone starting this school year with the goal of enhancing their assessment practices, that can feel daunting.
As such, I tried to break down what I've learned about my own assessment practices into a progression with bite-sized chunks.

I’ve always loved how sports provides lessons for life. This is a great quote… and I wonder what school would look like if all students felt this way about the staff that they interact with on a daily basis? #abbyschools
JT Miller told me this week about his coaches:
“They don’t want to change me, they just want to help me. My whole career and my whole life has been; how can we fix him?’ That just pisses me off even more, because I’m not trying to be me. I just am.”

A great guide to an important conversation … unless of course your worldview involves doing school “at” kids and then hoping they change 😬🤷🏻♂️ #abbyschools
In the upcoming manual, "Body and Brain Brilliance," we'll be sharing mutually repairing restorative conversations as time is given to educator & student , while another adult takes over the classroom! This Dual Awareness can be shared between students as well! Much more to come!
This was an interesting topic of conversation with our student council. When asked about assessment, their immediate answers revolved around “completing work” and “doing what they were supposed to do”. It was fascinating to see how much they didn’t actually mention “learning”.
This certainly summarizes the daily struggle. So many decisions/day with the simple option of building or breaking a student. How times do we think we are accomplishing one outcome while unintentionally doing the opposite?
3, 2, 1...
Build or break.
Repeat 2,333 times/week.
Okay, pseudo-science at best, but we make so many decisions that can build or break students.
And while we don't always choose the better path in the moment, "sorry" can get us back on track.
Simple.
Sincere.
Sorry.
This was a great opportunity to hear from @HargreavesBC after spending the last few months reading through his book and reflecting on ways to put these ideas into practice.
Great to engage with @KevinGodden1 leadership class on my Leadership from the Middle book today. We discussed challenges, building trust, collaborating with people who are different from us, identity politics, and top-down bureaucracies. @RoutledgeEd@uOttawaEdu@MichaelFullan1
