Culture War explores the thirty year siege of unionism, and the fightback which has begun.
Part 1 of the book over eight chapters analyses the constitutionally corrosive impact of the Belfast Agreement, the Irish Sea border and nationalism’s relentless targeting of unionist/loyalist culture from Drumcree (which is the focus of an entire chapter as a case study on parading) to the more recent attack on the flying of Union flags and bonfires. It further devotes a chapter to illuminating the political agenda behind nationalism’s divisive Irish Language campaign.
There is a detailed chapter contribution by Ulster University academic Dr Cillian McGrattan (writing in a personal capacity) who, using legacy as a case study, presents a clinical evidence-based exposure of the ‘greening’ of academia and how a small cohort of nationalists have managed to completely control academic output and skew it to suit nationalism’s political agenda.
The book also looks at the structural bias within much of the professional class- in particular within media and the legal profession-and how this has been influenced by a strategic nationalist insurgency to ‘green’ important opinion-forming institutions.
Importantly, Part 2 of the book in three chapters provides the tools for fighting back, explaining the basic outline of Human Rights law and Judicial Review, and how this can be used to defend and advance unionist/loyalist rights.
Culture War is also now available in a number of local shops, and can be purchased in both paperback and hardback directly via Amazon which is the easiest place to order:

💯 battle lines being drawn for an election based on whipping people up about identity to mask their combined inaction on health, education, infrastructure and every other public service device they have run down!
Gregory Campbell told @williamcrawley that SF would resign Ministers and that would cause a “collapse”.
This is just wrong. He needs to go and read section 18 (9), (10) and (11) of the 1998 Act.
The DUP are repeating legally illiterate nonsense.
Sinn Féin MLAs Deirdre Hargey and Gerry Kelly rule out resigning from the Policing Board after being interviewed by detectives investigating the blocking of the Orange Order Drumcree parade in Portadown.

Interviewed by police over Drumcree, yet still on the Policing Board scrutinising the very operation under investigation. How is that credible oversight? The UUP called for fundamental reform of the Board long before this debacle. The case is now impossible to ignore.
🚨 The arguments being made by those in the DUP arguing for sustaining the lawless Michelle O’Neill in office are without any foundation in law or reality.
Here are the facts, debunking each one of the arguments being made 👇
Sinn Féin MLAs Gerry Kelly and Deirdre Hargey have arrived at Musgrave Police Station in Belfast for interview over their attendance at protests on the Garvaghy Road in Portadown.

.@timcairns made an important point with which I agree. @GRobinsonDUP is a fundamentally decent person. He is a nice guy. He’s not malicious or nasty.
He is not the problem. It’s others, and everyone knows who they are. They are those whose personal interest binds them to sustaining a lawless mobster in office at all costs.
The DUP’s arguments for sustaining Michelle O’Neill in office are devoid of any legal or principled foundation.
They are legally illiterate, and collapse under the most elementary scrutiny https://t.co/aO8m94CHTQ
Unionism can unite around at least one issue:
There must be profound consequences for the lawless chief mobster who has defied the rule of law & led an anti-human rights campaign against 35 lawful peaceful Orangemen.
Follow that to its logic conclusion, and it’s a fallacy to believe the endpoint of delivering such consequences is not ejecting her from office.
GREATER SHANKILL ACT
Today we remember the 9 innocent lives lost on 23rd October 1993 when the IRA set off a no warning bomb in Frizzell's fish shop.
Our thoughts are also with the survivors and those who were first on the scene and witnessed the horrors of the aftermath.
"It turns out all you did was profound nothing and you've allowed Sinn Fein off the hook and they're laughing at you."
@JimAllister tells @MarkCarruthers7
Carla Lockhart has led unionism politically through Drumcree. Where she goes, the grassroots unionist/loyalist community will follow. She has shown integrity, consistency and clarity.
The DUP would do well to listen to her.
EXCLUSIVE: DUP MP Carla Lockhart quits as a party officer in a move which could lead to her leaving the party. She's been on a collision course with Gavin Robinson over Drumcree as she wants him to collapse the Executive now.

Jon Burrows doesn’t understand the legal effect of resigning the DFM. He thinks it “collapses Stormont” and “leads to direct rule”.
This is legally illiterate.
The whole case for the DUP continuing to sustain the lawless mobster has collapsed on the View.
Jim Allister is now literally telling Gavin Robinson off, with Gavin sitting with the head down (and rightly so given what they’ve done), live on TV.
There is no unionist who can credibly defend the DUP’s weakness.
This is car crash stuff for Gavin Robinson on the View. It’s quite clear there is no credible basis for sustaining the chief mobster in office. The case being made by the pro SF-inclusive Executive sycophants cannot survive even the most elementary scrutiny.
“You’re all bark and no bite” BBC tells Gavin Robinson. They are absolutely right.
