So many words to describe this monologue. Compelling. Enthralling. Immediate. Delightfully oxymoronic. Painfully paradoxical.
But none really do it justice. Quite simply the best soliloquy I've had the pleasure of reading in a novel. And brilliantly bookended π
@ireland4Irsih@DurnionStephen@CiaraKille13vl@gingerrtom@DC_Police Why are so many racists insistent upon not speaking for themselves? Using first-person plural pronouns. Is it because you'd feel too vulnerable without an imagined group to backing you up?
It's an interesting psychological phenomenon.
@Timmytmcl@Andycole2026@lil_doza Yes, I see them as human. Deplorable humans but still humans not representative of all other humans born with that skin colour.
@SEBisnotabrand@DurnionStephen@gingerrtom@DC_Police You still need lessons in nuance.
Current events demonstrate that people are generally less able to think critically or deeply enough to see past Machiavellian grifters offering simple answers to complex issues.
@ICtrlUFranLol I was living in Brixham up until 2021. I'll bet this was the scumbag that used to leave vile racist stickers at the bus station. At the very least, they knocked around together.
@SEBisnotabrand@DurnionStephen@gingerrtom@DC_Police I'll use the terminology I choose to use, thanks. All those involved and complicit should face the full extent of the law. But an entire religion, all immigrants and non-white people should not be held responsible and terrorised for those crimes.
@SEBisnotabrand@DurnionStephen@gingerrtom@DC_Police If you are referring to grooming gangs. White men and women are are also responsible for grooming and hideous sexual offences, so is it inevitable that all white people should be held responsible, terrorised and subjected to vigilante justice for that?
@SEBisnotabrand@DurnionStephen@gingerrtom@DC_Police It's not just approval, it's coded language encouraging others to enact similar attacks. She knows that stirring the pot like this will whip up her support base.
No, they weren't entitled but it was an inevitability after years of other actions (e.g., Great March of Return).
