Understand Liverpool have accepted an offer from Bolton for Luca Stephenson.
Stephenson, who can in midfield or defence, has spent the last two seasons in the Scottish Premiership on loan at Dundee United. #LFC#BWFC#DUFC
The Scotland squad will not repeat the show-stopping arrival of the 1998 team after the players decided against wearing a kilt before their opening World Cup match versus Haiti.
The Athletic understands the players were consulted on the option of following in the footsteps of captain Colin Hendry and his team when they arrived at the Stade de France to face Brazil in the tournament opener wearing traditional dress 28 years ago.

Do people think Gordon is supposed to take his SMNT training gear back to the hotel and wash it in the sink?
Pretty obvious why heโs got his initials on the gear.
Notice!
Scots can apply for the School Age Payment Grant (ยฃ331.95 per child) from today, and is for families with children aged 4 and 5, who are ready to start primary school. This can go toward uniforms, trips, stationery, etc.

Craig Gordon for Scotland. In what will almost certainly be the final games of his career, heโs hoping to get between the sticks for Scotland earning his 84th+ caps at age 43 years old (oldest in the tournament).
His club team (Heart of Midlothian) lost the Scottish league on the final day of the season to Celtic.
Heโs now a free agent and likely to retire post-World Cupโฆfor a second time. He first retired in 2012 (!!) while at EPL club Sunderland due to back injuries. He started coaching for 2 years before deciding to return to the game, winning 5 further Scottish league titles and multiple POTY awards with Celtic.
@cbk20 8 years balancing the budget and reducing the debts by over $10B? Thats good governance. Admittedly, I as a social democrat think he falls short on many social issues which he has control over.
I will insist that its crazy that the state legislature is about to close for 5 months. But thereโs one thing I wonโt do, and thatโs criticise Pritzker. His running of the state budget has been impressive.
Gov. Pritzker holding a news conference this morning to tout his $56 billion budget and things like a sales tax holiday on school supplies. Weโll also get his reaction to no Bears legislation passing this session
This borders on the ethics discussion. I know of a couple of clubs with SDs who done this exactly, they played it correctly. 3 years deal, started talking to the agent just after the first season, by the end of the 2nd season, it was clear they were being leveraged, so they iced the player out and threatened to reduce all his value. Sold him off at about 2/3rds of his true value.
Ethically? Horrendous. Team performance? Slightly down, they had good depth. Image to agents and potential future targets? Nightmare.
Then youโve the clubs who just take it as a loss and keep playing them. Thereโs no right answer, but itโs fucking wild.
@derrygandhi7@Rhutchison9 Comes back to the knowledge that as soon as a player enters the final 12 months of his contract, your leverage as a club is gone. You sign high potential players to 3 year deals and extend after 18 months.
@realcolinquinn Wouldnโt be shocked if its around 25m before any clauses and add-ons tbh. They absolutely hit on this signing even without him tearing the league up. 22 y/o whoโs shown he can hang already. They need to sell now for maximum value with the contract ending in 2028.
If correct, Celtic will be looking for a fee in the range of ยฃ23M+ for him. And all of Scottish football daโ Twitter will meltdown because they donโt understand what goes in to a valuation of a player.
๐ง๐ช Arne Engels on the move!
๐ The Belgian Red Devil recently joined DWMA football agency and wants to take the next step in his career after Celtic FC.
๐ Several Premier League & Serie A clubs, including AC Milan, are monitoring the situation.
โณ More to follow.
@cbk20 Explain to me, why does a legislature shut for 4/5 months at once? The whole point of a legislature is that itโs constantly working to pass bills, right?!
If thereโs one thing that the Bears stadium has taught me as a Scot, itโs that the operation of state legislatures appears to be absolutely pathetic. Youโre telling me the legislature closes for 4 months?!
Wrong. Old men should start to employ supporter liaisons who can actually engage and lead their ultras, who ultimately just want to bring their passion for the club to matches.
Ironically, owners and executives sitting down with these fans will be more beneficial to the club than sitting having coffee with a random local businessman with some money.
