Scunthorpe United can confirm midfielder Oli Ewing has opted to join fellow Enterprise National League side Forest Green Rovers for an undisclosed fee.
As confirmed within our retained list, following the period after the end of the season, the club had exercised an option within his contract in a bid for him to remain with the Iron, which was rejected by the 23-year-old within seven days of our final game of the season, as per a clause within his deal which was a key stipulation to him being brought to the club initially.
The club, keen to retain Oli’s services, entered into negotiations for a new and improved contract thereafter, which would also allow the Iron to retain compensation rights should the midfielder decide to move on. Having received an offer from Forest Green which Oli was keen to accept, the two clubs negotiated over a transfer fee to mitigate the need for a tribunal.

Scunthorpe United would like to thank Oli for his contributions in the 2025-26 season, and wish him all the best for the future.
