“We want peaceful resistance. We don’t want people hurting Little Tokyo.”
WASHINGTON (AP) — The Pentagon was scrambling Monday to establish rules to guide U.S. Marines who could be faced with the rare and difficult prospect of using force against citizens on American soil, now that the Trump administration is deploying active duty troops to the immigration raid protests in Los Angeles. w/ @lbaldor https://t.co/yfvqP1nai6
"Nobody’s going to spit on our police officers," says Trump, who four months ago pardoned people who beat police officers with pipes, flagpoles, baseball bats and 2-by-4s at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021.
Coco Gauff on what it means for her to represent America, ‘I’m proud to be American. I’m proud to represent Americans that look like me’
“Can you speak about what it’s like traveling the world as an American?”
Coco: “It means a lot. Obviously there’s a lot going on in our country right now. Just to be a representation of that and a representation of people that look like me in America, who maybe don’t feel as supported during this time period. Being that reflection of hope and light for those people. I remember after the election and everything, it felt like a down period a little bit. My mom told me during Riyadh, try to win the tournament just to give people something to smile for. That’s what I was thinking about today. Seeing the flags in the crowd means a lot. Some people may feel some type of way about being patriotic and things like that, but I’m definitely patriotic. I’m proud to be American. I’m proud to represent Americans that look like me and people who kind of support the things that I support.” ❤️

Nice sportsmanship from Carlos Alcaraz in his match against Jannik Sinner at Roland Garros.
Jannik hit a huge serve on the line that was called out.
Carlos walks up to examine the mark and says it was in and concedes the point. ❤️
Coco Gauff was asked about Aryna Sabalenka saying Iga Swiatek would’ve beaten her in the Roland Garros final:
“I don’t agree with that. I mean, I’m sitting here. 😂 No shade to Iga or anything, but I played her and I won in straight sets. I don’t think that’s a fair thing to say. Anything can really happen. Honestly, the way Aryna was playing the last few weeks, she was the favorite to win. I think she was the best person I could’ve played in the final. Her being #1 in the world, she was the best person to play. I think I got the hardest matchup just if you go off stats alone. Obviously Iga being a champion here, it was gonna be a tough match either way. But yeah, regardless of who I played, I think I had a good shot to win and I definitely had that belief. If you ask me honestly who I wanted to play, it was Iga. Just because I felt Aryna was playing so good. Obviously Iga is a tough opponent too. Honestly neither of them would’ve been the better shot 😂. But it played out how it played out and that’s why I’m here today.”

NOT for her politics but for reposting this: “Do not cower to Zionists. Shame them. Do not welcome them in your spaces. Do not make them feel comfortable. Why should those genocide loving fascists be treated any different than any other flat out racist.” https://t.co/9GcGaFz9za
Often think of this lovely story from 75th anniversary from @AniUcar Andrew Potter Mark Apicella. The German soldier’s reflection at the end. https://t.co/WZqAyFGOlw

"Everyone thinks this is a grift."
"completely nuts."
"lol."

The redemption arc of flacks and other members of the court who treat the press poorly during their time in officialdom is one of the most vexing elements of the cable-podcast-independent personality era
Former White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre is now a registered Independent.
She has a book coming out in October titled “Independent: A Look Inside a Broken White House, Outside the Party Lines.”

Now go back and rewatch Zelensky in the Oval listening to Trump and Vance hector him about Ukraine’s having no agency or capability absent the U.S. He had this op in mind the whole time. 🤣
