I'm thankful to Helen Stobbart's mum, Sue, who told the story of her daughter's 30 year addiction to drugs. Helen died in May. Sue said Helen was failed by a system which didn't intervene to save her from a mental health and drugs crisis. This is what drugs can do #rotherham
Today marks 50 years with the @rotherhamtiser for @JamieOllivent!
That's not far off a third of the paper's existence since 1858. Amazing stuff.
We had a little @ChantryBrewery-fuelled shindig in the week to celebrate...
@runningmillerz There's total commitment to the paper, Mate. It's one of the reasons I left a well-paid job to join. I like that policy. A lot of publishers aren't doing it that way these days. The Advertiser are a small, independent paper having a right go in the right way.
No Advertiser Millers coverage tonight. Missing my 1st game since joining the paper in 2018. It's a first-round cup tie a few hours after our deadline. Travel costs & huge spike in price of newsprint make it financially unviable. Normal service resumes this weekend. Go on, #rufc.
🇮🇸 The Thunderclap comes to Rotherham! 🇮🇸
☀️ Iceland fans have taken over the town centre ahead of the game against France
🥁 Amazing atmosphere!
