Congrats to our own Mr. Pudenz on being named the IAAE Outstanding Early Career Teacher! His passion for ag education and dedication to our students make this statewide honor well-deserved. He was also re-elected as North Central District VP for 26–28. Way to represent AP! ❤️🖤
🎉 HISTORIC EVENING! 🎉
CONGRATULATIONS to our THIRTEEN Iowa Degree candidates that were approved at the North Central District Review Night held at South Hamilton High School. This is the most Iowa FFA Degree's approved in a single year from our chapter.
It is a testament to the value our members hold for their work-based learning (SAE) experiences. It is also a very lengthy application process that tests their record-keeping capabilities.
The Iowa FFA Degree is the HIGHEST degree awarded to student members by the Iowa FFA Association. The Iowa FFA Degree is earned by less than 5% of FFA members statewide.
These 13 members will be recognized on stage and receive their gold pins and chains in April at the 98th Iowa State FFA Leadership Convention held in Ames. We are so proud of these members and their outstanding accomplishments with their SAE projects, FFA involvement, and classroom activities!
One of the best days of the year is when our group order of FFA jackets come in. This is our largest group EVER!
For some, it’s upperclassman who have already been involved who are finally getting their jacket. For the others, it’s just the beginning of their path in FFA.
Excited to have this group getting theirs for the first time!

Take a moment to see EVERYTHING our FFA members have done this year and the successes they have celebrated. Our community who supports us is remarkable- this year in review video is for you!
Thank you to everyone who has made 2025 a tremendous year!

The 2024 Iowa Ag Teachers Conference has come and gone. I am grateful to be in this profession full of passionate, forward thinking, and may I say gritty colleagues. In the thick of summer Ag teacher duties - the IAAE Conference provides the to opportunity to re-energize, fill the cup, and walk away with new idea's every year. I get to see so many of my mentors, friends, and folks I look up to... and each year it is desperately needed!
This year was a little different being a presenter for a couple workshops and I was thankful for the chance to do so. Lastly, I was humbled to have been elected as the North Central IAAE Vice President for a two year term. I wish to serve my fellow Ag teachers well and hope I can fill the shoes of those before me!
@CateWalton59 @sanedelville@FixingEducation Additionally I am sure they call them “practice contests”, which gives them a connotation that they may somehow be “optional”. Make no mistake, the effort it takes to succeed is no different than any sport, sometimes more. Those practice contests are as valuable as gold to learn!
@CateWalton59 @sanedelville@FixingEducation I am sure every single group in the school (sports, fine arts, speech, robotics) is clawing away for your Monday-off time? I am sure these FFA kids and their advisor(s)/community volunteers are working around schedules you may never even have considered!
The A-P & Grundy Center FFA Chapters will be holding a dry goods drive starting today and runs until Tues, Dec. 19 when we host GC. Items to collect: feminine hygiene products, toothbrushes, toothpaste, & any other household goods or toiletries! Drop items off at the high school!
Humbling opportunity. You get to do some pretty neat things when you work with students, staff, admins, and community members that exist at a school like A-P!
Congratulations to Mr. Pudenz for being recognized by the National Association of Agricultural Educators for his exemplary performance and dedication to agricultural education.
Today’s the last day to nominate your favorite ag teachers for the Golden Owl Award! I know so many of my colleagues are deserving of this award! See picture below!

Congratulations to our livestock evaluation team for placing 3rd Overall at the state livestock judging contest! Team members Colton Harken, Rowdy Groen, Tommy Janssen, & Kellen Reints will head on to represent Iowa at the American Royal Stock Show in Kansas City, MO. this fall!
Exciting news & a great way to beat the heat!!! The A-P FFA Alumni will be selling $3 chocolate malts at Ed Thomas Field on Friday night. Starts at 6pm! This is a fundraiser for senior scholarships. Thank you to Butler Co Pork Promotors! They will also be sell hog raffle tickets!
The Iowa Assn. of Ag Educators Conference never disappoints! Great PD & workshops, get to catch up with several friends, & some fun along the way. Blessed to be part of this small but mighty group who accomplishes so much. Humbled to have received the Teacher Turn the Key award!
Final day of SPACE! Watched the SpaceX Falcon 9 launch (2nd launch I was lucky to witness within 27 hours apart), went on a tour to see the SWAMP Works Lab and the incredible things being worked on planet excavation, visited with a REAL astronaut, and had a few “see ya later’s”!
Day 2 of SPACE! Day of “Modern Marvels”. Started bright and early to watch the launch of the Delta-4 Heavy at 3 in the morning. First launch I’ve seen. Followed by learning more about the worlds largest self propelled vehicle, single story building, and then Saturn V. Incredible!
