@PeterStefanovi2 £1.3bn for south east England & a private company whilst the Ukgov allowed Grangemouth & mossmorran to close. I see their priorities are spot on as usual
@LauraMiers@WallStreetMav Edinburgh and Glasgow airports had an “issue” with their aviation fuel supply earlier this week. The irony being the ukgov allowed the only Scottish refinery to close last year & it supplied over 98% of Scotlands aviation fuel
@dontdelay@james__love@malcolm_reavell@dr_besty The most likely answer is that the ukgov has issued a grant in kind similar to what it does with the bbc & the tv licence.
I don’t know enough about how it does its transfers yet
@james__love@malcolm_reavell@dr_besty@dontdelay The ukgov as fiat currency issuer instructs the Bank of England to create new £ which are used to pay the pensions. This is also how it funds the rest of its spending. All taxes collected by it are destroyed 😀
@AlanBrownSNP@TPRSCOT I can’t believe I’m going to agree with someone from reform, but nuclear power is by far the best & safest source of power we have right now. As for the costs to build it well there is a lot of needless expense
@pat11060@ricmontg@SSalyers2@Aodh_MagUidhir@iScotNews@davidson_didi@509298 I’d like to suggest an alternative take.
The Scotland act 1998 states the union of Scotland & England is reserved to Westminster. This means that the status quo that existed since 1707 remains along with each kingdoms rights & constitutions
@tozdee57@TPRSCOT If you support Scottish independence it is vital you understand why Scotland needs to have a currency issuing govt. Using the £, € or other nations currency issuing govt a stupid ass idea
@alanlyons33@AWeeWumman@outofunion The fiat currency belongs to the ukgov & only it through the Bank of England can legally create new £s. If you can’t understand that we are done
