@uroosaibrahim@ASTCT@ASTCT_Journal If not in clinic already, triage by phone and admit directly to the unit. Our goal is to keep these patients out of the ED. Anything to add @TaniaJain11 ?
#ASTCTChat Looks like outpatient CAR T is the future! Especially given potential use as an earlier line of therapy; and the products in the pipeline #ASH21@ASTCT@ASTCT_Journal
@uroosaibrahim@ASTCT@ASTCT_Journal Agreed 😊! Patients must reside within 1 hour of the hospital and be able to come to clinic for up to 4 weeks post infusion. No official criteria for admission. All CRS is managed inpatient at this time. #ASTCTChat
@ASTCT@ASTCT_Journal We admit with Grade 1 or higher CRS. No official criteria established for discharge and up to provider discretion when to send back out for outpatient follow-up. #ASTCTChat
@Arpita_GandhiRX@ASTCT@ASTCT_Journal Patients come to clinic daily for lab work & assessment. If only we could do this virtually- would be the ultimate comfort for the patients! No official “checklist” for when to admit and selection is based on provider’s assessment (frailty, comorbidities, lack of care partner).
Couldn’t agree more! Additionally, admissions to the inpatient unit for treatment that could be done outpatient keep our services full and create challenges to timely admissions for patients who HAVE to be inpatient. #ASTCTChat#moreresources#cartcell#ambulatorychemo
