#NextSteps I plan to continue my masters learning how to better incorporate technology in education, and then I can't wait to get in the classroom and develop my PLN. #EdTech207
@Alora41177847 I agree, we are never done learning! This is a great opportunity for continuing education to learn how to use and incorporate technology into the classroom. I am currently taking a digital tech/learning class at UMaine and am learning SO MUCH! #EdTech207
@MeredithSwallow Communication and collaboration with parents at home is key in ensuring our young learners are understanding appropriate technology use. #EdTech207
A5: Here is my parent perspective, I hope for regular two-way classroom communication: teacher/home and home/teacher (both including student). I hope for consistency in messages and usage, as well an open mind for ideas. #EdTech207
Q4: Incorporating technology into learning is best when you can see it enhancing learning and keeping learning goals centered, great frameworks to ensure this is happening are SAMR and TPACK models. #EdTech207
@KelseyLarrivee@MeghanGoodwin19 @WDsLitCrew Yes I see this a lot, this is not teaching our young ones the right thing. This definitely applies to A3 of inappropriate use of technology. #EdTech207
@MeredithSwallow I agree, technology is a huge part of our world outside of school, so our classrooms should be reflective of this as well. Technology is a tool for learning and our students should be learning digital literacy as well. #EdTech207
A2: As young as technology use begins the Digital Citizenship conversations should be started on how to appropriately use technology. #earlyed#EdTech207
#EdTech207 Jamie Johnson, I am originally from Iowa, I have a bachelors degree in biology and am currently getting my masters of arts in teaching at the University of Maine.
A6: Tonight you all have reminded me of the power of creating content, and of the amazing ideas that can happen when we share ideas w/ each other! I am inspired to go create more! #Appleeduchat
@wcannonw @room20awesome @myakSTEM Students have access to technology and media at home and in the classroom so young, it is important that Digital Citizenship conversations start just as soon as the use does. #AppleEDUchat
@JamiejUmaine @room20awesome @myakSTEM Yes, we should be embedding digital citizenship into curricula as soon as students touch device - it changes quickly but the important components also grow with the user… scaffolding and early understanding are important #AppleEDUchat
@room20awesome @myakSTEM Yes! I think that Digital Citizenship should be a part of curriculum to teach our students appropriate use of technology. Technology is SO active in today's society and it should be in the classroom as well. #AppleEDUchat
@bwphillips70 Adaptability is necessary in a learning environment. Not every student learns the same way, therefore, teaching styles should vary as well and creating your own content allows you to adjust to what fits your learners needs. #AppleEDUchat
A4: Content that you create allows your learners to connect with you, it is exciting to learn from your teachers, not as much from outside sources. Creation brings excitement and passion into learning. #AppleEDUchat
