PISCES RISINGS: The dishes keep piling up in the sink, while laundry remains both scattered throughout the washroom while also scattered throughout your bedroom. You tell yourself you’ll fold them, you tell yourself you’ll walk the dogs when you get off of work, you tell yourself you’ll eat something that supports your gut-health when you clock out, but reach for instant ramen out of convenience and high cortisol. You say to yourself you need some major dramatic shift or change in your life to magically clean your home, and have you feeling more aligned and less fatigued with yourself. You doom scroll after a fifty house work week - and get viscerally agitated at the green juice girly’s “Day In My Life Vlog” where she manages to go to her thousand dollar Pilates class with her hundred dollar gym set. You haven’t seen sunlight in the past three days, apart from your brief car ride to your cubicle and then back into your house. You tell yourself you’ll deep clean your house on the weekend, or you’ll go for a walk and quite literally touch grass. But, you end up binge watching trash reality television like your life depends on it. Here’s the thing, there’s no HGTV quick fix that magically flips a switch in your life and has you shapeshifting into the cookie cutter curated Pinterest board of a person that you scroll past, indignantly. Sometimes it’s the repetition of getting up two hours earlier than you would for work to make it to the gym, just so your mental health doesn’t continually decline more than it already has been feeling lately. Maybe it’s taking a minute to microwave a sweet potato, and scoop out some ground beef and an avocado from your fridge - versus the three minutes making ramen noodles. Not because you woke up craving avocado, but because your gut health quite literally sucks and you feel bloated, lately. Actively carving out time in your schedule, and the act of simply making it work - even when you’re tired, unmotivated, and honestly pissed off - will still land you in a much better headspace - than telling yourself you’ll “get to it” as you proceed to go through the motions of never doing anything at all. The most extraordinary lives are almost always built from painfully ordinary decisions repeated long enough to become love letters to yourself.
