What I like about this Beyoncé album is it asks us to ponder what country is “supposed” to sound like. A genre created by Black musicians, but co-opted to the extent we think “real” country needs to sound like the replicators as opposed to the originators

@CeeCee_89 @bad_dominicana No need to call names. I think the conversation can be had about folks profiting off of charicatures of Black people and anti-Blackness without diminishing the importance of a real Black community at the same time. Two things can be true at once.
