@catformation26 Amy being rattled by him and other women isn’t new, so her being bothered by Rachel isn’t ooc.Trying to make Jake a person who doesn’t know his feelings/what he wants is a really big stretch and it’s ooc.If he wanted Rachel he would’ve been with her years ago. I’ll never buy it.
Jake stressing about asking Amy for a letter of recommendation and her having written one a week prior without him even asking is such an interesting detail.
@catformation26 For sure! She had a lot of confidence in his ability because you could tell she was the type of boss to keep interns on a tight lease. Jake was able to break free from that quite quickly.
@LilaWilson18 Oh wait, sorry thought you were talking about the initial lies about their history. And yeah she did but that lie was teen stuff and testing boundaries, even Amy thought it was funny, it wasn’t insidious imo.
They’re doing so much retconning that they are narratively weakening Amy and Gina’s relationship without even realizing. It’s too many secrets withheld at this point…
@LilaWilson18 Honestly that point is negated when she herself finds out new information and a more “nuanced perspective” and doesn’t hold others to higher standards or call them out. If she’s happy to play the villain she will be continue to be cast in that role.
@LilaWilson18 Ironically all those lies were a consequence of her trying to protect her and not overwhelm her with information. I don’t get how we went from her being so eager to move in and rebuild the relationship to taking 1000 steps back in season 2. At least in season 1 she was mature.
@LilaWilson18 She wasn’t like this in season 1 at all. It’s been a really sharp and annoying personality change to drive drama between her parents narratively imo.
@LilaWilson18 She learned to deal with it in a dysfunctional way and the adults in her life enabled it. Michael said they did a lot of work in therapy but more work is needed. She’s not a well adjusted young adult at all. I still think her lack of perspective is partially due to retconning.
