Imagine the Earth is a big, round ball, like a basketball. Now, if we want to draw the whole Earth on a flat piece of paper (like a map), we have to stretch and squish it because a round ball doesn’t fit perfectly on flat paper. This stretching and squishing can make things look funny—not like they really are in real life.
The map in the post uses something called the Mercator projection, which is a way to flatten the Earth onto paper. Here’s the tricky part: this method stretches things a lot near the top and bottom of the map (near the North and South Poles) and doesn’t stretch as much near the middle (around the equator, where Africa is).
Russia is way up near the top of the map, close to the North Pole. Because of the Mercator projection, the land up there gets stretched out a ton. So, even though the real distance from Moscow to Russia’s eastern border is 5,900 km, it looks super long on the map because the stretching makes it seem bigger than it really is.
Africa is closer to the equator, which is the middle of the map. The equator doesn’t get stretched as much in the Mercator projection. So, Africa’s width, which is 7,400 km (a longer distance than Russia’s 5,900 km), doesn’t look as stretched out. It looks more like its real size compared to Russia.
Multiple Projects Dilute Success
Every additional area of focus weakens the impact of the others.
Even "passive income" businesses need active oversight to sustain and grow.
So get your core business strong first, then expand.
The fun projects can come later, but stability comes first.
I'm 28.
Stress & anxiety controlled me for years until I discovered breathwork.
After 4+ years studying nervous system specialists, scientists & elite athletes, my toolbox is full of breathwork hacks.
Here's my top 4 techniques you can use anytime, anyplace to return to calm:
Exercise 2: Hanging Leg Raises
Trains the lower part of your abs
If the hanging leg raises with straight legs are too hard,
do hanging leg raises but bend the knees
• Hang from a pull-up bar with an overhand grip
• Keep arms straight and shoulders relaxed
• Engage core muscles by lifting legs up
• Lift legs until they are parallel to the ground
• Hold briefly, squeezing abdominals
• Lower legs back down with control
• Aim for 10-15 repetitions per set
Exercise 1: Cable Crunch
This is the foundational exercise for a six-pack
It allows you to progressively overload
The Cable crunch primarily targets
the upper and middle part of your abs
• Stand facing cable machine with rope overhead.
• Grab rope, kneel with 90-degree bent knees
• Keep hips stable, engage core
• Round your back at the bottom of the movement
• Arch your back at the top of the movement
• Flex spine, bring elbows to knees
• Exhale, squeeze abs, hold briefly
• Return slowly to start position
• Aim for 10-15 reps per set
