I'm auctioning every panel on my BMW.
Not the car. The surface.
Hood, doors, mirrors. Your logo. 6 months. From β¬100.
If it fills, we drive it through Europe.

@joovier_ Mine: I turned my own car into ad inventory. 20 panels on a BMW 118d I drive every day, sold one panel at a time from β¬100. It's the cheapest billboard I could think of. https://t.co/m0TYCkwmA8
@MicroLaunchHQ Brand My BMW - I'm auctioning 20 wrap panels on my daily-driver BMW 118d. Bids start at β¬100, and the car actually drives around Germany every day. Independent project, not BMW AG. https://t.co/m0TYCkwmA8
@rashiumapathi The "where I'm most comfortable" trap cost me a whole quarter too. What broke it for me was picking the channel my buyers physically pass every day instead of the one my peers applaud on.
@mohit04narayan First thing I'd do is turn something I already own into the channel. My car became the ad space, so the cost was paint film and time instead of a media budget.
@Attrevohq Clicks are the easiest number to be proud of and the least useful one. The channels that actually brought me money were the hardest to attribute cleanly, which makes budget decisions uncomfortable but honest.
@Groove_Jar Rising ad spend with flat ROAS is usually a sign the traffic was never really interested. I'd rather fix why people came than pay more for people who didn't.
@edgex11ai@ionleu Agreed, and the order matters: distribution first, then charge for it. Cheap tools made shipping trivial, so the scarce thing left is being seen by the right people at all.
@wtAngat Building has a clear finish line, marketing never does. That's why I now decide how I'll get the thing in front of people before I write any code.
@vishalzone "Your first 100 customers should know your name" is the whole thing. Every deal I've closed came from a conversation I had personally, not from a channel - it just doesn't show up in any dashboard.
@k4komaaaal "Cheap feedback" is the right framing. I post the messy version of my project first and let people tell me which angle they actually care about - it's saved me from spending money on the wrong story more than once.
@AdamKitchen_co The shrinking active customer file is the metric nobody wants on the dashboard because it can't be fixed with more spend. As a small founder I feel the same trap in miniature: easy to buy a spike of traffic, much harder to build something people keep coming back to.
@CommunityCanon@tibo_maker Congrats on the first paid user - that's the hard one. Same mechanic, different surface for me: I'm auctioning 20 wrap panels on my daily-driver BMW 118d, and the distribution comes from the car being out in traffic every day rather than from a timeline. https://t.co/m0TYCkwmA8
The uncomfortable part is that the sticker-spot people aren't selling a rectangle, they're selling a story people want to watch. I'm testing the physical version: 20 wrap panels on my actual daily-driver BMW 118d, bids from β¬100, and the car really drives. If it flops, it flops in public. https://t.co/Bq5SfhaWed
The OOH is doing the heavy lifting here - beauty-coded placement in London/Paris/NYC makes a Β£420 toothbrush feel normal. I'm running the small-budget version of that idea: auctioning 20 wrap panels on my daily-driver BMW 118d so a livery drives past people instead of standing still. https://t.co/Bq5SfhaWed
