Three women were on trial at the #OldBailey on 26 August 1685 for stealing a flowered gown and satin petticoat from Mr Marmion's house. Catherine Baucer and Cassandra Widdows were given 'a Gracious reprieve for a longer Life', but Ann Scot hanged.

Elizabeth Shower, in four years of marriage, had lived in Utrecht, Rotterdam, London and borne three children of whom only one survived. Wife of a Presbyterian minister, she was put out of reach of 'Child-bearing Pains' and died on 24 August 1691.

John Blacknall and his wife, Jane 'finished an happy course upon earth' in August 1625. They and one daughter may have died of the #Plague. Their memorial was erected in 1684 at St Nicholas's Church, #Abingdon.

The Exeter-to-London carrier's men recognised the #HighwayRobbers who held them up on Honiton Hill in 1678. #Exeter women tried to get a reprieve for one man, the innkeeper at Cullompton for the sake of his wife and 'nine very Hopeful children'.

Jane Morgan of Llansilin, #Wales was 130 years old in 1677. Her memory was lively, telling stories of Queen Elizabeth, but 'she grows less'. She had shrunk by 18 inches, and 'now is Four Foot and four Inches high'.
