A quick glimpse of laser cleaning trials at @LincsCathedral yesterday to clean stone. This @lyntonlasers machine is 20x more powerful than the one we used to clean the Romanesque Frieze with.

@Caistor_GS Thank you for all your hard work over the last 5 years. Some extraordinary challenges well met and a superb education for the students - heartfelt thanks. Enjoy your time off and good luck for the future.
And for contrast, here is the original before we cleaned and conserved it. Thought to be a scene unique to @LincsCathedral which has been a challenge to both conserve and create a copy of.
Some 5 years after starting on our #nlhf project on the west front, our final piece of the jigsaw was placed in the west front this week. This is a copy of the Romanesque frieze panel c.1140 of Eve and Abel carved by Martin Coward who did a brilliant job.
Turn on @QuestTV tonight for the new series of @MrNickKnowles Heritage Rescue.
This episode, filmed over the last 18 months, is all about Lincoln Cathedral. It's great to be able to showcase the skill, talent and dedication of everyone that works here!
After 700 years looking south over the city of Lincoln, and 30 in the back of our conservation workshop, it’s been a pleasure to fix this beautiful Angel outside the new gallery @LincsCathedral this week.
A fantastic day yesterday with four of the country’s leading carvers coming to @LincsCathedral to finish their copy carvings of the Romanesque frieze before the new gallery opens next week. #NHLF
