Ban gambling ads Albo for the sake of the kids and the abused partners after losses mounted.
It’s disgusting that we are the leading gamblers in the world. An embarrassing shameful claim to fame.
Do the right thing.
We have too many broke lads.
Banning gambling ads to protect young Australians is not a left vs right issue.
We’re seeing yet again vested interests control of the major parties meaning the Australian people lose.
MPs across the Parliament support stronger action on gambling ads. If there was a conscience vote on a full ban, as was recommended by the Murphy Review, it would pass.

As millions tune in for State of Origin tonight, it’s important to remember domestic violence rates will spike by up to 40%. Speak up to keep her safe. The behaviour you excuse is the behaviour you accept.
Our Commonwealth Government has an egregious record of implementation failure (e.g. Snowy 2.0; offshore detention contracts; Robodebt… External Auditor General Dept is defunded. Now exposed: uncoordinated AI data centres. 👇Where’s PM&C on this? National Cabinet? Anyone?
I listened with great interest and hope to AmandaRishworth during her NPC announcement re employment reform, earlier today. The system has failed many job hunters for years. #auspol
The Albanese government will overhaul Australia’s employment services system in what it says is the biggest reform in the area in decades.

Around the world the practice of #politics is at lowest level of public respect of my lifetime. Here in Australia #Robodebt is clear example of brutal persecution of defenceless people & its perpetrators got a slap on the wrists. Huge disgrace.
Following Commissioner Brereton's resignation, there is a lot of work needed to restore public confidence in the National Anti-Corruption Commssion.
This has to start with a transparent, merit-based process to appoint the next Commissioner.
Charging aged care residents $15 to watch a volunteer performance 🤯
That is appalling.
I've also seen providers charging people to have a monthly Zoom call with their family.
I’m glad the Minister has referred this to the regulator. I'll follow up to see if strong action is taken.

100%. I am glad the NACC Commissioner Paul Brereton has realised that his resignation was necessar.y.
Once the new anti corruption commissioner is appointed via a transparent process, they must have their full attention on their NACC responsibilities. #auspol
The resignation of Commissioner Brereton from the National Anti-Corruption Commission is a chance for a fresh start and an opportunity to rebuild public trust in an institution Australians fought so hard to establish.
The NACC was created to hold the powerful to account. For it to do that job well, Australians need confidence in the person leading it.
The Government must now appoint the next Commissioner through a process that is independent, transparent, and merits-based.
Agreed. In Australia there’s an opposition (Liberal/conservative) leadership challenge today. NewsCorp paper putting gambling odds for likely winner. ABC talking about topic incessantly.
As a news junkie, I sense a strange kind of ‘baying for blood’ vibe about it. Not helpful
And yet another problem is that now political correspondents have made the prophecy that Starmer will go at some stage, their coverage will attempt to make that prophecy self-fulfilling.
The Liberal Party attracts a lot of career driven men. I don’t notice many of the ‘greater good’ types.
I don’t have a strong preference for who is opposition leader. Under very difficult circumstances, Sussan Ley has not been given a fair go. Normal people can see that #auspol
@MiltonDickMP Keep up the good work. They are a rowdy lot some of those pollies. Incredible to think that although all in the House of Reps are adults, many act in very very juvenile ways.
Sussan Ley is a strong leader who has been relentlessly undermined by your (yes you AngusTaylorMP)’s far right, aka conservative faction.
Confidence will be restored when your party gets their act together.
Why I have resigned from shadow cabinet.
We need to urgently restore confidence in the Liberal Party.
We need strong leadership, clear direction and a relentless and courageous focus on our values.

A week later, more scheming, as reported in The Australian, also associated with your employer. Undermining of SussanLey in a tasteless way prior to Katie Allen’s funeral 29 Jan 2026. Very undignified. No class. Such poor judgement on display for all to see #Auspol2026
No doubt you would know AClennell. The people behind your and other related workplaces (Herald Sun) appear to have been scheming for sometime to bring this challenge on #Auspol Ref attached, in case you missed it Friday 23 Jan 2026 HeraldSun

As I just said on air, Angus Taylor expects to challenge Sussan Ley by the end of the week. Pressure to go as early as tomorrow although Friday more likely. @SkyNewsAust
Distinguished Australian journalist/publisher David Armstrong appointed editor-in-chief of Pearls and Irritations. John Menadue, 91, P&I founder, steps down but will remain on the board and a contributor. Menadue seems biased towards humanitarianism. https://t.co/hEdevORZ4P
Littleproud appears to lack judgement. Notably his timing seems all wrong, as is the content of his ‘decrees’. Declaring who Lib leader should be is outrageous. Blowing up coalition on National Day of Mourning, unbelievable (but true). #auspoll

Any challenge to SussanLey, whether Mr Hastie, Angus Taylor or other aspiring Lib would be unwise.
I agree with SamMaiden’s thoughts from Insiders 25 Jan, and Dr Monique Ryan, quoted today. Ley’s enemies not giving her a fair go. Makes them look worse #auspol
