This will annoy quite a lot of people but we need to start debating it now we’re out of the COVID tunnel.
The NHS isn’t free. It’s time to stop worshiping it and start questioning whether it’s the best way to deliver healthcare today. Public health spending is £273/m per person.
Let’s face it. Party-gate is not really a matter of who consumed what when. It is about INTEGRITY (or not) and a wider culture of entitlement at the “top”.I was waiting to see how Gray reported on that. This last development leaves a very nasty taste indeed.
@SimonCalder About time too. Completely ineffective, except at inhibiting economic recovery. PLF should also go - it’s an unnecessary intrusion - one of so many areas of authoritarian creep we seem to be ‘accepting’ as permanent in the wake of this.
If I wanted to create the perfect conditions for prolonged post-viral fatigue, I would:
- tell patients repeatedly they are at high risk of suffering from the condition.
- restrict them to their homes for a week or more, limiting exercise & activity. 🤷♀️

Covid should be treated as an endemic virus similar to flu, and ministers should end mass-vaccination after the booster campaign, says ex-head of vaccine taskforce.

Yes, let's make sure the Lateral Flow Test fairies keep making and bringing a never-ending supply of the little boxes from the Land of Free Lateral Flow Tests. Otherwise we'd end up having to pay for them for decades through higher taxes. 🙄

With #Omicron spreading through community transmission, and likely to become the dominant strain, I have written to the Health Secretary to ask for the rationale, and for how long, the latest #InternationalTravel restrictions will be needed
Tasted great, but so they should at nearly 42p a biscuit! How can this amount of packaging be justified for six tiny biscuits?!

This is the @BBCNews homepage. This sort of imagery is deeply irresponsible and I’m sure can turn localised issues into a full blown crisis. Surely a benefit of the license fee should be that our national broadcaster doesn’t have to chase clicks in this way. #petrolshortage

I quite like the graphic the government shows on its daily dashboard to show progress on vaccinations. I did a similar one to demonstrate why they need to decommission the arrivals testing programme for arrivals from green and amber list countries.
