One of the oldest churches in Scotland is up for sale. Kilbirnie Old Kirk in Ayrshire was built in 1490 on the site of an older monastic cell. The local trust needs £70K to purchase it for the community. Its Renaissance style interior is stunning. Donations welcome….👇👇👇

Spain Imposes Comprehensive Sanctions on Israel: Arms and Settlement Bans, Travel Restrictions, and Expanded Support for Palestine and Gaza

PM Pedro Sanchez:
“One thing is to protect your country and another very different thing is to bomb hospitals and starve innocent children to death.

What Israel is doing is exterminating a defenseless people. It is breaking all the laws of humanitarian law.

We cannot sit idly by.”

Spain announced nine measures against Israel:

➤ Arms Embargo
Ban on the sale of all types of weapons to Israel.

➤ Maritime Restrictions
Prohibition on ships carrying fuel destined for the Israeli army from passing through Spanish ports.

➤ Airspace Restrictions
Ban on the entry of aircraft transporting defensive materials to Israel through Spanish airspace.

➤ Entry Bans
Denial of entry into Spanish territory for individuals directly involved in genocide and war crimes.

➤ Settlement Products Ban
Prohibition on importing goods produced in Israeli settlements in Gaza and the West Bank.

➤ Consular Limitations
Restriction of Spanish consular services for citizens residing in illegal Israeli settlements.

➤ Support for the Palestinian Authority
Strengthening Spain’s diplomatic and financial support to the PA.

➤ Increased Contribution to UNRWA
Expanding Spain’s financial and logistical support for UNRWA’s operations.

➤ Enhanced Humanitarian Aid to Gaza
Boosting humanitarian assistance and cooperation programs directed at Gaza.

Politics needs a bit more Ed Davey and less Farage. It’s possible to be decent, not divisive as this statement on Rayner shows.

“I understand it is normally the role of opposition leaders to jump up and down and call for resignations – as we’ve seen plenty of from the Conservatives already.

“Obviously if the ethics advisor says Angela Rayner has broken the rules, her position may well become untenable.

“But as a parent of a disabled child, I know the thing my wife and I worry most about is our son’s care after we have gone, so I can completely understand and trust that the deputy Prime Minister was thinking about the same thing here.

“Perhaps now is a good time to talk about how we look after disabled people and how we can build a more caring country.”
