A huge congratulations to 5th Year student Sophie OโShea who has come 2nd in Oideโs National Write a Poem' competition with her poem โThe Lives of Womenโ.
This is a significant achievement for Sophie as hundreds of poems from around the country were submitted.
Today marked the end of our spectacularly enjoyable Badminton tournament, organised by Ms. McGrath. ๐ธ
In the end Mark Williams & Ms. Muckley were victorious after beating Mr. Meade & Padraig Cronin in the semi final and Ella OโDonnell & Ms. Vaughan in the final! ๐
6th Year English got creative with their King Lear revision today. They were split into groups and analysed a different soliloquy each. They then connected it to a theme and investigated if it also had elements of our studied imagery #LCEng
Before mid-term, First Years finished learning about Ancient Rome. To celebrate their newfound knowledge on their studied ancient civilisation, we held a toga making competition & they put on quite the fashion show! ๐๐ป
6th Year Higher Level English were in Athlone today to see their Leaving Cert play โKing Learโ by William Shakespeare. The production was put on my The Gaiety School of Acting & it was a great experience to see their studied characters come to life.
6th Yearโs were practicing their DBQ on the Jarrow March today, while also listening to a podcast for some analysis.
