I would love to get more eyes on THE UNLIKELY PURSUIT OF MARY BENNET so I'm asking the community for help: if you're into historical romance, queer Austen-esque works, or you just love love (or know someone else who does) please add it to your Goodreads lists & tell your friends!
Someone else said:
“Art Nouveau is when it looks made by elves.
Art Deco is when it looks made by dwarves.”
And after looking into it, I think they’re a genius and 100% correct.

"Speaking of my oddity, Mrs Priestley said she always told people I was a natural, but she thought nature was in an odd freak when she made me"
#AnneLister and Eliza Priestley!
What a great and deep friendship!
Of course, we had to take flowers to her & Mr Priestley's final resting place.
Again did a lot of cleaning from overgrown moss, shrubs, plants of all sorts ...
This unforgettable couple is buried in the churchyard of St Mary the Virgin church in Boston Spa.

This book was such a hoot to write 🤣 If you like regency ladies kissing each other and bantering about it, then please do check out my forthcoming romance THE UNLIKELY PURSUIT OF MARY BENNET on Netgalley and/or add it to your Goodreads list!
One of the more valuable lessons I've learned is that writing a book isn't just sitting down and typing. It's also the long walks I take, the art I look at, the books I read, the songs and movies I absorb, the museums I wander around. A lot of what I call passive writing.
This is the desk that Jane Austen wrote many of her masterpieces, including Pride and Prejudice. On this tiny 12 inch desk. All you need is a pen, paper, a good idea and time. You can write a novel. #writers ##amwriting#janeausten
I think a good distinction for people to keep in mind when talking historical fashion is that costume design is not fashion. Costume design can overlap with fashion, but costume design exists to tell a story about a character within the context of that universe. Not real life.
#Poiret’s 1911 striped gown and George’s Lepape’s 1912 fashion drawing Les Papillons are the mirror image of each other in many ways, shades of orange and vertical lines with under bust bows, capturing the spirit of the moment @MuseodelTraje#fashionhistory
