This is a good article which cites many examples of how movement heightens memory. Teachers are encouraged to use their hands & gesture more frequently. Research by @SpencerKagan shows it is more effective to get students gesturing & use kinesthetic movement to cement learning.

I ❤️ these chips in a 5th grade at Fairfield East! During the @KaganOnline structure Talking Chips, the students turned a chip upside down when they contributed an idea to the discussion. When all team members had both chips facedown, they flipped them back over & continued.
