On September 27, 2023, Union City teachers of grade 3 mathematics received high-quality professional development aligned to the New Jersey Student Learning Standards focusing on "Operations & Algebraic Thinking."
Roosevelt School: Mrs. Coloma's 3rd graders enjoying taking turns being TEACHER OF THE DAY! They've created lesson plans, presentations, videos, worksheets, and class review games for 3rd-grade curriculum content. We are all very, very proud of them!

Roosevelt School: Check out how Ms. Coloma's creative 3rd graders are turning trash into treasure! After their lesson on recycling in honor of Earth Day, students created their own eco-friendly products.
They not only learned the importance of reducing waste but also how to give old items new life! Let's celebrate these young environmentalists making a difference!

Roosevelt School: Mrs. Coloma's 3rd-grade students were able to explore the concept of area through this hands-on activity. To demonstrate their understanding of measuring space within shapes, they created Area Robots.
Roosevelt School: Students in Mrs. Coloma's 3rd-grade class, 214, wrapped up their energy unit by creating robots! This project helped them understand basic concepts of renewable energy, promote creativity in designing robots, and foster early interest in science & technology.
Roosevelt School: Students in Ms. Coloma's 3rd grade class started learning about fractions with hands-on shape partitioning and sorting equal/unequal shapes!
