If your argument against #DCStatehood is that DC residents opt into living in the District then you are erasing the hundreds of thousands of people who are born in DC and stay here for their entire life.
DC is our home, and we deserve full equality.
It is important to avoid Downtown today if at all possible. There are many who seek to act on their hate by attacking our neighbors. We wonβt give them that opportunity. The crowds will soon disperse, and we'll be here building a DC where Black Lives Matter and every vote counts.
THIS. IS. A. MASTERPIECE

Made it home safely, something #KaronHylton is unable to do because an officer felt the need to chase him for being on a moped without a helmet. The use of smoke bombs and flash bangs tonight was ridiculous. Having to see a family mourn and then get sprayed was terrible.
Today is the first day of early voting DC! Early voting centers will be open every day from 8:30am-7:00pm, and you can vote at any location in the city. Get all the info you need about all the ways you can cast your ballot this election: https://t.co/H1YmUzozDQ
Yesterday we had a conversation about community safety in Ward 4. If you weren't able to join us, here are a few of the highlights.
DC Attorney General @KarlRacineDC joined us to speak about the work he and I did together at OAG and how that office looks at violence. (1/4)
βI support Janeese because she supports stronger rent control. I work in housing and itβs not enough to address affordability with one-off projects. We need a better approach as a city.β β Rebecca, who is volunteering at Raymond Rec today. Thank you Rebecca!
