Our support for Crisis is part of a £1m prevention package delivering a suite of new services this winter, providing targeted, intensive help for people on the streets and piloting innovative approaches to prevent rough sleeping.
When he was chasing a headline, Nigel Farage said he’d scrap the two child limit.
Now Labour’s actually doing it, he’s going to vote against.
You’re a fraud @Nigel_Farage.
Therapeutic play is vital for supporting children through medical treatment, and more must be done to ensure that these services are properly integrated across the NHS.
Alongside Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and other partners, the UK condemns the approval of 19 new settlements in Palestine by the Israeli Security Cabinet and calls for this decision to be reversed.
International law must be respected in pursuit of a lasting peace. 👇
Grateful to have been invited to join two special Christmas services at St John the Baptist in Catford and Kings Catford
A special thanks to Catford (Southend) and Downham Team Ministry and Joe McNamara for letting me join their festivities and celebrate this wonderful holiday
‘She’s behind you!’
Had great fun speaking to the crowd during last week's showing of Dick Whittington at @BroadwayCatford. Great fun for all the family!
Thank you to the cast and crew of the show, and @LewishamCouncil for organising the event.
Homelessness and rough-sleeping are a moral stain on our society.
It doubled under the Conservatives.
This Labour Government is investing £3.5bn to prevent homelessness, and end rough-sleeping for good.
The Tories pulled us out of the Erasmus scheme.
With Labour, the UK is rejoining that scheme. This will mean every young person has the chance to study or train abroad, no matter their background.
I recently visited a fascinating local history exhibit celebrating 70+ years of public service from one remarkable Lee house.
Dr Charles Carey established his GP practice there at the NHS's birth, serving the community with his brothers from Ireland.
His son Charles, a government lawyer, later occupied the house and became a passionate advocate for public access to legislation, so passionate that he stood against me in 2018 to raise awareness about the risks of keeping laws on private databases.
Thank you @SarahChampionMP, @SamJRushworth, @tracygilbert72 and @JanetDaby from the @UKParliament International Development Committee for our strategic dialogue on global health.
We discussed @WHO reforms and transformation to promote, provide and protect global health – including development of norms and standards and making the organization financially resilient.
We deeply appreciate the UK’s commitment to health and its continued support and collaboration.
WHO’s power of multilateralism has been critical for health security - convening countries, sharing information, and facilitating global agreements – and we will continue to support all countries to achieve our mandate.
Solidarity is our best immunity.

Delighted to see that my good friend @Brenda_Dacres has been nominated for Peerage. Brenda has been a tireless supporter of Lewisham, first as a Councillor and now as Mayor. I'm sure she will continue this work in the House of Lords!
Great to see that the Hither Green Upgrade is proceeding so quickly!
I also met recently @Se_Railway, who gave me an update on their work at Hither Green, and discussed what more can be done to make Grove Park Station more accessible.
