@StuartMaggs@barbedquill Ah that’s grim. I’ve worked in SME all my life but mostly limited company’s, some grew and ended up in QUIPS which can be tricky, will it be the same for all companies not just sole traders?
@StuartMaggs@barbedquill So if they don’t make real profit until October or December then wouldn’t it be Jun and Sept qtr report no profit no tax December and March profit and tax to pay? Or is that not how it will work?
@DarrenRJones It’s a tricky one but almost every company that goes bust owes HMRC a decent amount, they are the first debtor to lose out. If you make a profit that is taxable would you not use that to grow rather than the tax element of it?
@lawrenceofthe@StuartMaggs No I thought that, I just keep my own spreadsheet and keep the estimated tax to one side every month . After years of being used to PAYE I don’t want a tax bill only to find out I’ve already spent that money.
@sharrond62 Whilst I agree the money is wasted. I save for my tax bill every month, around what I expect to be taxed. When I retire I don’t want a bill the following January that I don’t have the funds saved to pay so I don’t really see what the problem is.
@abdoull997 Potentially a cost and source issue. If Halal is not readily available, it could be more expensive, if demand is low then waste would be an issue. It may just not be commercially worth it. If this is a major issue then maybe live and/or holiday where you know it is available.
@bammybae_ it’s more about culture. ie music, pubs, love dogs, fashion, work hard, have fun etc, same outlook and values then for me you are welcome and valued. An immigrant who doesn’t contribute and doesn’t actually like western norms may not be good for the country.
@GayTory I’m working class, also now highly paid. Not everyone can change their job -we need those roles, support workers are invaluable, I am forever grateful to the carers who helped me look after my mil. Understand why we should all pay a bit of tax to be invested in where it goes.
@Lord_Sugar I voted remain. The remain campaign spent enough money and had enough support from all sides of the house to enable people to make informed decision. It’s not like the remain campaign were silent. I decided based on both sides of the argument so why do you think leavers didn’t?
@Theleftorwright@GenderKoolaid . It is your lived experience and you know what it feels like to be trans, I don’t profess to understand, but we should all be kind.
@MasterMaliq And yet, peaceful Muslims did nothing when the Yazidi people where being driven out and slaughtered. History teaches us no matter how peaceful you are you may be incapable or unwilling to stop others who do seek to replace or destroy.
@MasterMaliq History shows that becoming a minority in a majority Muslim state doesn’t end well. I suspect the majority of these Muslims lived peacefully, that didn’t stop the ones intent on removing other religions. Modern day shows us intolerance of Islam, with the peaceful doing nothing.
@MasterMaliq It’s not hatred it is fear, we have seen what has happened in other countries where Islam is the majority and it frightens us. Syria, Iraq, Sudan, Nigeria, Islam has a history of treating minorities terribly. We don’t want to be the next Yazidis.
@deirdrecostigan@andyburnham So your constituents are incapable of forming reasoned rational decisions and understanding what is blatantly fake and what isn’t? You have a particularly low opinion of those that you serve and represent.
