This is the entire problem.

If Kirstie, & people like her, actually understood, REALLY UNDERSTOOD what happened back in 2014, when Stonewall decided to solely focus on the TQ+, (entirely different from LGB), & throw gay people under the bus, instead of focusing on their original goal of equality for same sex-attracted people round the globe, we might, just MIGHT, have moved FORWARD & have LESS of a need to consider ourselves eternal pariahs & victims, that we continually need affirmation parades & constant ‘celebration’.

We MIGHT have made a difference in countries which imprison or execute gay people. We MIGHT have been able to achieve what we achieved here in the UK.
We MIGHT have significantly helped the rights of women everywhere, by focusing on the need for equality & fairness.

Does she REALLY believe that’s what these current pride marches or these obligatory lanyards are supposed to achieve? If that IS actually their goal, then they’ve utterly failed to get their message across, as it seems to most people, these marches, & symbols are nothing more than needy, narcissistic & hedonistic indulgences.

Does she not grasp that the goal was, & should have remained, equality? Simple equality. Nothing more, nothing less. Which we did.

If the goalposts are shifted every 5 minutes, no wonder we haven’t moved on & simply become ‘ordinary people’, without caveats, instead of being lumped in with an increasingly bizarre, unrelated & never-ending acronym, that keeps us on an ever-spinning, dizzyingly clueless hamster wheel…

We HAD equality.

We HAD earned tolerance from a hostile society.

We HAD acceptance.

We have NOW regressed 40+ years, thanks to patronising & infantilising takes such as this.

You don’t solve a problem by instantly creating another, because you must ‘keep marching’, no matter the outcome already being achieved.

That’s called ‘lunacy’.
