A little history (high-level) of data centers in Virginia in a long post... bear with me.
Right now, in Virginia, data centers pay taxes at the local level per county, which combined throughout the state is over a BILLION in tax revenues.
For the counties.
Loudoun alone gets roughly $600 million a year from data center tax revenue ... and their schools are still a disaster but that's for another post.
Data centers also pay property tax.
To attract these centers, Virginia exempted them from state-level equipment sales taxes... and this right here is what the debate is all about.
We have to go all thew ay back to 2010, when @timkaine was governor of Virginia.
I know, right?
Well, to attract these type of businesses to the Commonwealth, they passed the Virginia Economic Development Partnership which is really just a fancy name for a state tax exemption.
That @SenLouiseLucas absolutely supported and voted for; yes, the same Lucas who is now acting like she's fighting these monster data centers because they need to pay their fair share or whatever.
@GovernorVA likely knows if they screw with the exemption, Virginia could lose these centers to more business-friendly states not looking to tax them out of existence. She's already losing business and jobs for the state as it is.
Lucas wants the money for the state instead of just the counties - I'm not entirely sure why but rest assured whatever her reasons, it's all about what she gets out of this, not Virginians.
To be fair, I'm not sure any of these leaders really care about what is best for Virginia because if they did, we'd already have a budget. Ultimately this is political for all involved, and Virginians are paying the price.
Miss Youngkin yet?
$735,720,598.00 just awarded to Pfizer by the CDC for infant Covid shots. Another $505,272,000.00 awarded for adult vaccines.

There are no double-blind, placebo-based randomized controlled trials for the safety of childhood vaccines. They don't exist because the people responsible for them decided not to do them.
I know this because in 2017 @RobertKennedyJr and I sat down at the NIH with Francis Collins and Tony Fauci and asked them. We said, we can't find a single placebo-based safety trial for any vaccine on the childhood schedule. Are you doing them, or are we just not seeing them?
They told us they don't do those trials because they believe it is unethical to withhold what they consider a beneficial product from a control group. That is the logic. The faith that the product is so valuable that studying it rigorously would be unfair to the people in the trial not getting it. So they never study it.
Every vaccine given to every child in America rests on an assumption of safety and nothing more.

The public health screamers hate this one.
They hate you knowing that no one has died of measles in the US this year.
It’s hard not to feel they wish more kids (or at least one kid) would die of measles to justify their hysteria and anger.
Irishmen standing up for their homeland show how much state power it takes to oppress the West. It takes massive state protection for the primitives to usher in terror. The lads could clean up their country in a week if not for state oppression by traitors.
Deaths in the US so far in 2026, by cause:
Drowning: approximately 1000 (22 kids in Texas alone)
Mushroom poisoning: 4
Rattlesnake: 3
Lightning: 2
Marathon: 1
Measles: 0
And, oh yeah, overdose: approximately 30000
Let's try to scare people some MORE about measles, huh?
Fun fact: NOT ONE PERSON IN THE US HAS DIED OF MEASLES IN 2026.
Not one.
We've had a total of 127 measles hospitalizations this year - 0.001% of all hospital stays.
And the outbreaks peaked FIVE MONTHS AGO.
I favor measles vaccination. But can the media please drop the drama?
@mtnhousewife My mother, who taught English (that’s what they called it then), spelling and handwriting would have admired your mother’s lovely cursive🥰 I love that one morning your mother listed “egg mcmuffins!” I have no doubt she was making the sandwich and not hitting the drive thru😉
There was a generation that did not make a fuss.
You knew them. Some of you are them. Men who came back from things they never spoke about, sat down to a plate of liver and onions, and got on with the week. Women who ran households on rationing and willpower and never once announced they were overwhelmed. They had a phrase for it. Least said, soonest mended.
We have decided, in our wisdom, that this was repression. That they were bottling it all up and it did them harm. There is something to that, in the extreme cases. But we threw out the whole practice along with the worst of it, and replaced it with a culture that treats every fleeting feeling as a fact that must be broadcast at once.
They ate proper food. Meat, eggs, butter, offal, dripping on bread. Their brains had the materials. And on top of that they carried a code, learned without ever calling it philosophy, that said you do not inflict your every passing storm on the people around you.
Hardware and software, in a flat cap.
None of this is new. Composure was ordinary once, and then it quietly went out of fashion. Some of us are walking back to find it, with a fork in one hand and Marcus Aurelius in the other.

Did you lie to Congress? Fifth Amendment.
ActBlue is a money laundering operation for foreign donations into Democrat campaigns.
Covington & Burling may be right in the middle of it.
