PhD position (4 yrs) within a new CRC;
Overall topic of this consortium is the perinatal period, microbial colonization processes and development of the immune system; profile: microbiologists inclined to develop skills in genomics, or vice versa
PhD (4 yrs) within CRC 1371 (https://t.co/N59CK1tEXF). Great network; collaboration with the Stecher lab; topic is strain replacement strategies within gut microbiomes; profile: microbiologists inclined to do mouse work (gnotobiotics), or vice versa
Long-read #DNAsequencing methods are emerging, generating near-full-length ribosomal operon sequences. Kerkhof et al. present an #rRNA#database and BLAST parameters for strain-level #microbiome analysis, and they made it all happen directly in the field.
