Starting something new this July.
Think Well Corner - free weekly workshops at Wellington City Library on practical thinking skills for real life.
First session: 11 July. 12 spaces. No cost. Just curiosity required. "The Story You Tell Yourself"
[email protected] to book.
What stories do you tell yourself that are limiting who you can become? Where did those stories come from? Parents, teachers, friends, a previous version of yourself that wasn't kind? Isn't it time to write a new story?
What if depression is a plea from your subconscious to pay attention to something that isn't working in your life as well as it should. A way of forcing you to pause what you're doing, reflect, take stock, and change direction. 💙
@brightafia Perhaps but it may have more to do with you being different when you're fit. Maybe you act more confident and you like yourself more due to being in better shape. So others are just responding to the better version of yourself. 🌿
@theChloeGeorge@ThrillaRilla369 I hear you! 😊 Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I'd rather people show up to my events, hang out, and if they go away with one idea that's useful, I'm stoked, and don't have to ever know about it.
Why change is hard
If you're trying to change anything about yourself, your brain will resist it. Why? It views any change as a threat to your stability. That's why big changes usually don't stick. The best way to shift things is smaller changes that don't alarm the brain. 🦋
Live your life like you're the hero of your own story. One who navigates the twists and turns that inevitably show up but learns, grows and prevails in the end. 🦋
One of the coolest things about being up early to greet the new day is the amazing colour show put on by Mother nature. Another day on this planet. Let's go get it! 🥀
Being too naïve leaves you unprepared when things go sideways.
Being too aggressive clouds your vision against the lighter side of life.
A balance of calm restraint and readiness to act works best.“Speak softly and carry a big stick; you will go far.” (Roosevelt)

@Hitchslap1 don't think so. IQ is an indicator of a person's cognitive processing ability so a lower IQ wouldn't have the capacity to reach the level of thinking required for physics. In the same way that someone with little athletic ability couldn't reach the heights of athletic prowess.
@G_S_Bhogal Scientists wouldn't study the monkey for aberrant behaviour because scientists don't make value judgements about the behaviour of animals. If they did study it, it would be in terms of alpha male behaviour.
