Hi, I'm Janis π
After 12 years of coding π¨βπ» as an employee, I tried starting my mobile app development agency π https://t.co/AcSiwvCiq3 - and failed.
So I switched to contracting.
The agency dream is paused, not gone.
Sharing my messy journey from employee to founder.
@alidramani34 All ideas can sound good, but not all are worth shipping.
Example: a boots company for cats - sounds like a inovative idea, sure.
But is it worth the time, money, and energy?
Contracting: Predictable cashflow and control.
Agency: Possibly more revenue, but more responsibility
If your goal is building your own products, which path really leaves more time and energy?
Contracting reality...
Juggling multiple clients is basically managing promises.
Have you found a good way to plan capacity without overbooking yourself?
@aseeralfaisal By that logic managers would be dumb too - they don't do every task themselves, they review and guide.
Using agents sounds more like managing work than losing skill.
I had the X blue check for about a year and recently unsubscribed.
My take:
If you're using X to grow an audience - you probably need it.
If it's just for self-expression - not really.
What are your thoughts?
