"Physician assistants used imaging at higher rates than physicians, in particular CT at 6.5% of visits compared to 0.7% for MD/DOs." https://t.co/DvdAqQ1Tpj
The U.S. is facing a shortage of up to 124K physicians by 2034. We must make a long-term investment in our health careand public health infrastructure. Congress, now is the time to #ExpandGME. #radvocacy https://t.co/jMyubIAr5F
"...burnout for radiologists often comes from ... the moral injury of feeling like a technician rather than a fellow physician colleague. This latter burnout factor can partially be relieved by doing clinical assessments and providing the patient with specialized IR care."
Radiologists rapidly launch inpatient IR consult service that’s generating tens of thousands in new revenue. @SocPedRad@archildrens@uamshealth#radiology https://t.co/6XxGLmNatE
@ChengaziMD@linemonkeymd I don’t use ‘request’. It’s a consult. 1st step eliminate that language from the vocabulary. Yes for every consult. Non urgent consult gets done next day during work hours.Same day procedure still gets a consult. Yes bill it. You have value beyond the procedure. @VISLAMDSCAIP
Agreed! Radiologists engage in patient care as a physician for diagnosis, management decision-making, and choosing appropriate imaging modalities and protocols tailored to each patient. We should be called and act as consultants. #ACR2023#ACR100 @FleishonMD
“The person who told me I had cancer was a #radiologist, and it was one of the most compassionate conversations I had in medicine.” @DGlaucomflecken lived the importance of #PFCC, in his 20s. 💚 #ACR2023
Inspiring #ACR100#ACR2023 Presidential Address by @FleishonMD, emphasizing the intimately unique role radiologists serve in patient care as consultants, very apropos of the recent @JACRJournal article ⬇️

We are proud of what we have achieved together with our members in our first one hundred years, and we're excited for what's to come – #FocusedForwardTogether. #ACR2023
@DrOverfieldMD There's no easy solution to that other than truly integrating into the preclinical and clinical curriculum, and multidisciplinary conferences as others have pointed out
@DrOverfieldMD In fact I had only ever shadowed residents on call, rather than doing a daytime rotation, and I think I had a much better perspective. What still surprised me, despite being told, was the sheer amount of knowledge we have to know.
